Hello all,
I am new to downloading movies and converting them to a playable format. I have some files copied and they are in bin and cue formats. I need help in converting them to a DVD format or mpeg format. If someone could look past my ignorance and direct me to a article or explian what I need to do the assistance would be greatly appreciated.....thanks
BIN & CUE files are used for a disk image format, so that you could use such as Nero's burn image to disk to burn blank DVD with DVD Video files to it! So, if you have Nero that's all you need otherwise you'll need that program.
I think you have a SVCD file, which is a mpeg in vcd format. So i would use ISO BUSTER to drag the mpeg data out, and save them on the pc. Then use nero vision express to convert to dvd format. There are other conversion programs on torrentspy so you dont have to pay for it. Post back sooon as you get started and rolling on this.
Could also be VCD or SVCD files too. Maybe he can just mount on a CD and play like that and save a DVD.
That is, if his player plays VCDs, but most do nowadays.
Sounds like an VCD...unless it's over 700-800mb it's possibly a dvd[some are built to fit 8oomb cd-r's]
Thats a pretty easy way to pick what it is and as the others said u can burn using good ol' nero.
If u wann play it straight on ur pc u can open and play the .bin file using VLC Media player from videolan.org
Good Luck :)
you can use magiciso to edit vcd image. and burn bin/cue onto cd.
http://www.magiciso.com/download.htm
Locate a program called SUPER and away you go! "Extract the video from the bin first though"

Theres also a guide at www.videohelp.com for extracting video from VCD's and SVCD's using ISObuster or Magic ISO I forget which one but conversion is mighty easy.
TMPEG encoder is not freeware but its a nice tool for authoring DVD's.
Enjoy
