Laptop battery question...

I just got a free Dell Latitude c510, with a boatload of software.

Anywho, the battery lasts a fraction of what it should. I am looking for a battery for this thing and found a couple that would work.

So here is the question:

4460mAh > 3800mAh = longer battery life?

Yes, at least in theory. In practise if one battery is new stock and the other has been in a warehouse for four years...

Before you buy a new battery, try running the old one all the way down. ALL the way.

even tho they are both brand new, it also matters who made it

And it has to be conditioned to get full effect IE. Let it die completely, charge it full, let it die again, charge it full, let it die again and then it should be at max performance.
