They are still working on the Bugs. The Xolox 1.18 Beta 2 is up to Build 104 right now.

If you want to chat with some of the Beta testers and Programmers goto: http://www.p2pchat.org/xchat.htm
(This is the exact chat feature link that is included with the new XoloX.)

That’s correct, there are still some issues being ironed out before public re-release of XoloX. The contribution from the current beta testers in determining bugs has been significant to the advancement of the client. Although I am unsure of the exact day for public release of beta, I can say its not far off taking into account the public release will still be considered a beta; naturally with many improvements and additions in future versions. The projected target date was simply not feasible for a mass scale.

Not long submitted this 'story' to Zeropaid,be interesting to see if Zeropaid use it 'cause they have a 'special' relationship with XoloX.....

For those that have been following XoloX's progress and wondering whatever happened to their May-Day release then a possible reason may exist here,or here if you know your Dutch.

As many know,XoloX bailed out long ago,and many(especially here at Zeropaid) were more than willing to give them another chance.

Are XoloX yet again running scared from the Dutch version of the RIAA?( Buma/Stemra)

The links for this musing are as follows...

Nice article , but actually thats not the reason but I'm sure will raise some eye brows.
The same reason remains , there were just too many bugs and last minute changes so the expected public release was pushed weeks ahead.

I see that ZP posted the 'story',or half of it anyway.

Let the users decide for themselves if it's just another rumour then.

Indeed, thats the way it always should be. I was just letting you know the reason for the delay was not that case. Whatever ruling is decided can effect all the p2p community - not just XoloX.

I would suggest you to believe Kayamans rumours, because he has a very good relationship with the developers. :wings

Thank you Morgwen. I do have some contact with the Developers *grin*.
XoloX is as anxious to release as anyone else, but that doesn't mean it gets rushed out the door an unstable client to meet what *was* a projected release time.
The fact of the matter is, XoloX stopped development for many months so getting back up to speed is not as easy as everyone thinks. In fact this beta will still lack (as you know form the Zeropaid Interview) some of the things now becoming standard Gnutella features such as Super/Ultrapeers; although doesn't make it a bad client to the Gnutella network since XoloX has a lot to offer Gnutellanet it goes to show XoloX is taking large steps in its return, not leaps ...but I do feel will get there.

edit: form = from * , damn typos

Gnucleus though...

has been getting better and better. I've never up to now got that great results from it, but today's version seems to have reached a sweet spot. I have a lot of faith that it could become the bext Gnutell client out there.

I would rather wait for them to get all the bugs out than have a piece of crap program. So I will just be going on with my life until then.

All I was saying is that I would rather wait patiently while they work on it and make sure everything is right. And since it has no bugs why is the release taking so long? Obviously they feel that something either needs to be fixed or improved. Some people get so defensive over nothing.
