    Should Microsoft WGA Be Removed?

I haven't heard much talk about this here, but I was wondering if anyone had any opinions.

Here http://p2pnet.net/story/9168 they tell me Window Genuine Advantage, or WGA notification is spyware that calls home on every boot, and will soon call home every 2 weeks. They also seem to be saying it's scanning for stuff Microsoft doesn't like on your system. Does that mean Microsoft is disabling that software, or will in the future?

They have a removal tool at the above link for the notifications part of WGA. They tell me that's the spyware part. I downloaded it. Does anyone know of any reason I shouldn't use it? Will I still be able to get Windows exploit patches from the update site?

    SPYWARE- as i posted here
    http://www.zeropaid.com/bbs/technolo...acy-38163.html

so meaning, its still up to Justice Court if thats an SPYWARE
So, if youre OS is genuine, you can call the MS to validate it.
if it is in other way around (pirated OS) you can do what you think is better for your pc

But take note if your OS is not validated for genuine:
    * Some security patches cannot/ will not install in your pc
    * some windows update can conflict in your pc
    * Most of the incoming application from MS (i.e. WMP 11, IE7, Windows Defender the new release) cannot work or will not work properly in your pc

and why you need to validate...

more question, please feel free to post here

My XP is edited to not update. I never got a pop up and they can't force anything on me. I stick with Firefox so I'm not worried about MS IE.

I had always had auto update turned off but I found that after MS started this forced mandatory WGA download shit for updates that just having automatic updates turned on and set to inform only and then choose what gets downloaded and installed is the easiest way to get around WGA.

I sorta didnt read the update and got this by accident

There is a message on boot and you have to wait for a timer to count down then when you have booted

then its in your tray constantly reminding you again and again and again!!!

I carnt remember now but isnt there a really simple way round it like dissabling it in IE
Okay, Kitty Kat. This feels "borderline" inappropriate

"Band of Brothers"... you should rent it sometime
