I never gotten one but they exist on crappy networks alike. They will all be in the file headers and then corrupt shared directory, rewrite itself in alot of other places and disable any possible thing that could remove it.

I never got a virus from downloading from private BT sites and usenet. If you're afraid of getting a virus, scan everything you download with an antivirus.
Yeh...Download .MP3's, avi's, mpegs, .oog. Don't download .exe files.
Know how big a file should be....if it's in a zip file or a rar file and it's smaller than it should be, then it's a virus. You should always assume that.

They say to teach abstinence as a viable alternative (you'll never catch a virus) but then again who the hell practices abstinence anyways, also note these are the same morons that want to teach Intelligent Design as science and apparently condoms are evil.
As to not be completely off topic antivirus is a must ( and update the damned thing daily).
Always look at the size of the file you are downloading. A game will be anywhere from 100 megs to 9 gigs. A 23 KB file claiming to be a game is a virus. A song is usually between 2 - 15 megs not 28 KB which would be the virus. If you type in Activation, serial, or crack into the search field you will always get a virus .
Use sites that confirm files (AKA Torrent files or NZB files). Both Bittorent and Usenet have an abundant number of these sites. Although God, the Devil, and the Almighty Peter Sellers know I prefer Usenet over P2P. Mainly because I'm lazy, impatient, don't like viruses and prefer sex to masturbation.
