Newbie needs help with playing file

Hello, everyone. I'm new to this forum (and relatively new to torrents, too). :-)

I downloaded a torrent last night that was described as "English & German". However, when I went to play it, the audio is all German (which I don't speak or understand).

Can anyone tell me how to play this file in English? Is there some codec or player or something that I need to install in order to hear it in English?

    Thanks so much.

I'm afraid you'll have to find an English version.

It's also not a good idea to post your email addy. You may get unwanted spam as a result.

Thanks. Good idea about the email addy and I did remove it.

I guess I just don't understand why the torrent is described as "English & German" if it doesn't play audio in English (the torrent, btw, is tracked by this site). That's why I downloaded it, thinking it would play in either audio.

Oh, well. I'll just toss it out and go looking for an English version.

    Thanks, again.

    Dont delete it yet!

There are many movie files that are dual audio and a lot of them default with the foreign langauge dub.

Look at the audio settings while the movie is playing and select the english track.

With Media Player Classic you just right click and navigate to audiotrack you want. I dont know how other players handle it.

Hey...what do I know? I haven't seen dual audio files except on dvd's.

Actually there could be a SRT file which is subs, that you use with it to play subs.. Sometimes its packed with it. Otherwise you can find subs to use for it.

On most codec packs, they should include Morgan Streamswitcher, which will let you play multiple languages audios encoded in videos. Get free GSpot utility to check you've installed it on your computer or not!
