what i started saying was that downloading (sharing as we prefer) is healthy to the music scene and is much a marxist scenario.
the fact is that bands make very little off CD sales from stores unless they are already selling a shitload of CDS.
therefore bands like Metallica might lose a little bit of cash (who cares - metallica used to be cool, but......) while the bands that are just trying to be noticed and make their way get their chance.
For instance there are many bands that i would never have had the liberty of knowing had it not been for sharing ogf music - I see the indie bands i hear and love whenever they come near guelph and so they make more money off me thatn they would trough a cd store just from paying admission plus i usually end up buying a shirt or CD where they make their money more directly
