The only reasonable thing you can do is contact Yahoo directly. Even if you do, they still might not do anything about it, or it will be a rather long process.

And use a larger, easier-to-read font next time...

You have to figure out who was able to answer the password change questions in the first place....ask them the answers.

Do you know who hacked your account? It's hard to hack yahoo. Scan your computer to see if you have any keyloggers on it (record everything you type).

It's not that hard to crack yahoo from what I just googled. I may be mistaken, but aren't simple passwords pretty easy to get by?

If you google hack hotmail or something like that, you will get a lot of links. But if you look at those links, most of them are actually fake posts saying they use password recoveries to get the password and ask you to send another password and username of an already existing yahoo account to a certain email. That email belongs to somebody who is waiting for dumbasses to actually give him their passwords.

I heard its just a extended program that keeps hammering at yahoo with tons of passwords til its accepted. Kind of like if you know someones yahoo email address, theres a password log that the program uses to get into it. Once in, im sure the person changes the password as fast as possible to lock you out.

Thats called brute forcing, and I believe does not work on yahoo because it locks you out after a certain amount of failed attempts.

The easiest way to get a password is to keylog the person and have the logs emailed or sent some other way to the person who installed the keylogger. Its actually really simple to do and requires almost no experience. The best way to protect yourself against this is to either have a firewall so that the logs can not be sent or have a good AntiVirus that would detect the keylogger. Another obvious way to find out the password is of course if you store your passwords on your computer (with Firefox for example go to Tools/Options/Privacy/Saved Passwords/View Saved Passwords).

So immaculate_goldy, have you recieved any emails lately that had an attachment of some sort that you opened? Has anyone been on your computer who could have searched through your passwords?
