Final Fantasy XI Error

hello!

I bought final fantasy x1 on my xbox 360 a week ago and i keep getting this Fucking error msge POL-1361 that is stopping me from registering and says page cannot be displayed.

somebody help!!! thanks in advanced!

From the playonline.com website:

We are currently experiencing congested connection traffic during PlayOnline registration with the Xbox 360 version. Players may receive "POL-1361" error message during the progess.

If you are receiving the error message during registration, please try to access from the begining of the registration process again later. (Pressing the retry button will not be able to resolve the issue.)

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused

Yeah but it's been over a week and still no news, loads of people are getting this error, we called them up and they have no idea what's going on, they said there isn't a problem i think they're chatting shit

I have never experienced that error.. Then again I haven't played for about 2 months... I played the beta and the PC version. I might go back to this game. Can you report to us when your error is fixed? I would like to go back to playing :)

You need support if technology expert of which you buying of these products go to page of the retailers to get more infomattion.

Recently, I purchased Final Fantasy XI Online for XBOX 360, and got everything set up successfully to the point where the PlayOnline menu is operational and able to navigate through.

However, when I begin to Log-In, the screen displays an error message, and it displays:

"Unable to log on to PlayOnline.
The player currently signed into XBOX Live
has not enabled chat and messaging."

It doesn't really make sense to me what I need to do further to get this thing running, as I have been through all areas of the menu trying to find out what it is talking about.

Please help me so i can finaly play this great game. Thanks

This is likely the wrong site for that information. Try an Xbox site forum or maybe Square softs site. Maybe someone here has had that problem but thats a shot in the dark. You need to go to the source and dig for answers. Sorry

I think you need to login to xbox live (you don't need to pay, you just need to sign up for at least a silver account) then you can play FFXI. if you're not logged into xbox live I believe it won't work.

I got in contact witha guy that works for PlayOnline and he gave me a step by step walkthrought to solve my error.

So if anyone else encounters the problem:
"Unable to log on to PlayOnline.
The player currently signed into XBOX Live
has not enabled chat and messaging."

Then this is how its solved:
]Most of the time, this is due to the parental control:
Xbox dash board > Settings > Family Settings > Console Controls > Turn Off Family Settings.

Now, it happens that Turn Off Family settings is in grey and not selectable. In which case you have to go to:

Xbox dash board > Settings > Xbox Live controls > log in Xbox-live > Communication > it needs to be set on “everyone” (the 2 other options being” only friend” and “block”)
This solves your issue.

I am going to post this on a few other Forums were i have seen people having the same problem as me so i hope you can now all enjoy FFXI^^

Do yourself a favor and don't get sucked into this game, lol. Look at the error message as a sign to turn back while you still can.

1 simple reason

they buggered the battle system

it feels like a maimed animal

the story has got potential but i cant get over how crap the fighting is in it

i hope they dont fuck about with the next one

12 is okay IMO. It's different. the battle system is all about managing the AI correctly. It takes a bit of practice, but once you're used to it... Well You'll still want to go back but you'll at least find it enjoyable :)
