Hi, recently I have been have slow downloads on bittorrent lately. The client I use is Bittornado. Now I have checked everything and it is how I left it, nothing changed, just bittornado being slow. I have tested bittornado to see if it was just the torrents or it was the connection, and it was the connection. I tested this by downloading a torrent with alot of seeds and peers, and the most peers it connected to would be about 28 and about 7 seeds. I would get a download rate ranging from 5-40 depending on the popularity of the torrent. Usually if the torrent was a popular one, I would get a download rate ranging from 50-100. Also, the light on the bittornado window stays yellow, it use to go green but now it just stays yellow. Can anyone help me out here? I have forwarded my ports on my router and have no firewalls running at all. Not software firewall or windows firewall. I didn't change anything at all, and all of the sudden my downloads are slow.
If you had read the other threads and guides (dozens of them), you would know what info we really want from you.
Go back and read, then post again.

Well, heres a pic of the bittorrent window and the status of the torrent.

What ISP do you have?
Are the ports on the router you forwarded THE SAME ports used by Bittornado?
Cable or DSL? if DSL, is it PPPoE?
Is there anyone else sharing this connection? Is it WIRELESS?
I see a Shield, wtf is that? Do you have 3rd party software that gaurds your system?
In your Event Viewer, do you have 4226 errors? (look it up)
.

well that makes sense now...you have a very common problem with windows xp pro and service pack 2...what's happening is windows xp service pack 2 is limiting the number of half-open internet connections you can have to 10.
The solution is to go here download this patch..apply it by following the instructions below:
if you need additional details read this threadCode:use C for change and type in 100

i don't mean to kid anyone..but when the little light for 'check engine' comes on in my car i just unscrew the lil' bulb and no more problems...may you should turn off the light too?
how about PM'ing me the link for the torrent or better yet sending it to me via yousendit or whatever method u prefer...don't post it here..and i'll try your torrent and see if its slow for me.
when I do the setup for the patch, windows asks me to insert the WIndows XP Disc because I am missing files, do I just click cancel?
why is it that nobody reads anything? When I started I didn't have to ask, I read every thread and guide under the stars.
Please google yourself around, read read
I just think you don't have enough seeds.
0 isn't enough - and only 4 peers @ 48%? You're never going to finish this torrent. Get off it now and quit wasting your time... didn't anybody else notice that?
Props on the good music taste though!
Yes, click cancel and then yes.Originally Posted by Primal
