If it is already installed you can use AIDA32 http://www.sofotex.com/AIDA32-download_L9326.html

If it's already in and you need a driver for it you may have to take it out phyically and look at the card.

    pimpinaman - THAT IS AIDA32

Sometimes we have reasons to recomend an older version, as the features changed when it became forest.

my apologies....I learned something new today :) I didn't know that. Why would you choose AIDA32 over everest?

lol Youre not missing anything . .

    HOWEVER

as with most MS subjects, there are multiple ways of doing things, and this is good . . but not all are as correct.

If you have a problem, and the wrong driver is installed, Windows might not indicate to you that it is the WRONG driver . . so you try to reinstall it and the problem persists. Your hardware may be mislaballed using DxDiag or Device Manager and you wouldnt know it.

Also when you RE install a driver, it is supposed to update Device Manager from the registry, but at times this doesnt happen and is misleading.

By using software that properly identifies the HARDWARE by polling the hardware ID you can see exactly what chipset that you are dealing with, and research the proper driver from multiple sources.

Aida32 is still very comprehensived, and the Everest has versions with varying features for home, office etc.
