    Azureus and SP2 = internet crash ?

    Hi,

I was using Azureus client for a long time and all was perfect. When I upgraded Windows XP (pro) to SP2, Azureus was still ok. About one week later, when I wanted to use Azureus, my internet connection would crash after 5 min and I'd need to reboot my comp. I'm currently using uTorrent, it's working but really, really slow.

    Specs
    3.0 ghz Intel
    Asus P5GDC Deluxe motherboard
    1x1gb Ram (DDR3200)
    Ati x700 256 mo vid card (PCI-E)

    Drivers
    Bios : 1011
    Ethernet : Marvell 7.24.1.3 (releashed 10/27/2004)

    Network
    No Firewall software
Router (D-Link DI-604) is running in DMZ mod forwarding to this comp. I tried connecting the computer directly to the modem, same problem.
Using Cable modem ( ISP : Cogeco Cable (www.cogeco.ca))

Any ideas about what could cause this problem ?

    Thanks

Yah, and theyre all covered about 500 times in the BT and Azureus threads, read them.

You'll find lovely stuff there like 4226 errors, highly fragmented drives . . .

    Well, ok...

I first start Azureus. (in exemple here, 1 torrent at the time) The torrent start reaching some Seeds / peers.. the dl / upload speeds rises to the normal (about 30 - 40 kb/s).

All goes well for about 5 min. Suddently, both speeds (dl and upload) starts to decrease until they'll reach something like 5 B/s. At that time, I can't use any web-based application (IE, msn, games, etc) and I need to reboot my computer in order to get back Internet.

short answer to ur question (involves reading)

Go here and do what it says there.

Any time you see the term 'trustyfiles' just subsitute it with 'Azureus'

Here's more info if u really want to know Azureus is killing my router

    Basically go here

    Install this

and select the 'C' option use '100' for the value (no quotes)

finish the steps for the procedure to patch ur tcpip.sys file then reboot.

    simple as pie.

Credit to Krell for originally answering this question a thousand times Cheers, m8!

You said that your computer was fine for a week, what did you do different?

Did you install any new programs, add hardware, change internet settings or routers?

I did what Dark Messenger told me to do, but still the same problem occurs.

I did not install any thing nor changed my network config during that week. But still there's something that might be it, it could be possible that it was during that week that the latest Azureus version was installed on my comp

Dark Messenger is a very patient person, gave you right info!

If you suspect that the problem was due to upgrading, then uninstall, reboot

Then DEFRAG, and reboot again . . . always reboot after a defrag.

Reinstall the latest java, then the previous version of Azueus and reboot, or just move on to U-torent.

I just checked for 4226 errors, and found some as of today (when I tested Azureus). The problem is that the patch that was supposed to fix it, didn't. I also asked a friend if he had 4226 errors and told me yes, but his Azureus program is working fine.

Maybe putting the connection limit even higher than 100 for the Tcp/Ip could help ?

I am assuming yoir ports and Azureus program is added to the exception list of the XP Firewall and that your ports are forwarded?

Try uTorrent and see of you get the same results.

XP Firewall is completly disabled. uTorrent works perfectly, but is a bit slower than Azureus was when it worked.
