High on Mt. Ararat in eastern Turkey, there is a baffling mountainside "anomaly," a feature that one researcher claims may be something of biblical proportions.
Images taken by aircraft, intelligence-gathering satellites and commercial remote-sensing spacecraft are fueling an intensive study of the intriguing oddity. But whether the anomaly is some geological quirk of nature, playful shadows, a human-made structure of some sort, or simply nothing at all—that remains to be seen.
Whatever it is, the anomaly of interest rests at 15,300 feet (4,663 meters) on the northwest corner of Mt. Ararat, and is nearly submerged in glacial ice. It would be easy to call it merely a strange rock formation.
But at least one man wonders if it could be the remains of Noah's Ark—a vessel said to have been built to save people and selected animals from the Great Flood, the 40 days and 40 nights of deluge as detailed in the Book of Genesis.
The Genesis blueprint of the Ark detailed the structure as 6:1 length to width ratio (300 cubits by 50 cubits). The anomaly, as viewed by satellite, is close to that 6:1 proportion.

when you look at the enlarged picture in the article, it appears to be a ridge. but it's an intriguing notion to consider...
we're here for a good time, not a long time- so have a good time, the sun can't shine every day.....
This is old news, everyone knows the ARk is in Turkey and had been viewed many times. No one can enter and dig it up, there is laws as well as where the ship resides in to.
Looks like a big rock to me...
noahs ark lol the things religious people say *sigh* omg Is that jesus's face in my cup of tea!!
Rest in peace mother

You will always be with me.
many people have been on ararat after jumping through bureaucratic hoops, in the 30's, 50's, 70's, and 90's
all anyone ever found was either nothing, or wood that was later proven through carbon dating to not be old enough
some people really like to waste their time and money proving fairy tales (which, if you think about it, don't need to be proven to the sheep that believe them already anyway and will never have enough evidence to prove it to science)
it's like the "face on mars" pgotographed by mariner or voyager or whatever probe it was. people said it was a big conspiracy by the government to cover up alien civilizations. a more recent probe showed it was just a resolution/photograhic illusion, which just renewed the "it's a conspiracy" bullshit
faith is a dangerous thing, especially since it is most common in the least intelligent people, i'll cite urban legends and conspiracy theories as perfect examples, as both can be disproved usually with only a minimal amount of thought, yet they spread on and on for decades
IF there ever really was a dude named Moses, (who has long been credited with writing the first 4 books of the bible) and he wandered around in the desert for 40 years with a bunch of ex-slaves, then he'd have plenty of time to make all kinds of funky shit up.

I'd like to know where you got this brialliant deduction. Do you have any facts to back up such a statement?Originally Posted by notbob

I'm not trying to be a jerk or dis anyone, but it's pretty obvious. Take evolution for example... nearly all the worlds scientists accept this as fact due to enormous amounts of fossil, astronomical, geological and genetic evidence.Originally Posted by uselesscrap

Let me know if you need more examples...
Religion is a dangerous and very good thing at the same time. Religion many times started wars and also made civilizations great. Some people who lose hope in life after a tradgedy find hope in God. Its a complicated question whether religion is good or bad.
My view of religion, it should never be imposed and should never be used to defend atrocities. If you need religion and it helps you then thats fine im glad it helps you.

This is a S&T thread derailed by notbob, get back on track, if you can see this bitch with google earth, or your pretty sure you can find it with a devining rod and a bottle of thunderbird chime in, otherwise enough of the religious banter already.
.
I don't know why they are so worried about finding Noah's Ark when they need to find that crate in that warehouse that has the Ark of the Covenant stored in it.

I ran this photo through a high rez filter and found more shocking images!

Hard as ever and here to make you people believe...as long as there is one person to hold hope and dream...A GOD...will never die!
when did i ever mention religion?Originally Posted by Krell

never mind the fact that a thread about "noah's ark" is going to attract yahoos trying to use this information as evidence to validate all the time and money they wasted in their life on a myth. like i said before, grainy satellite pictures are much better than hard evidence, because they keep the myth going. going up on the mountain and finding nothing countless times (you'd think an enormous ship would be pretty easy to find, especially when the satellite shows exactly where to look, and has done so since 1974)
you can see a bomber plane on google earth too, that doesn't mean that it isn't a fabrication made by a bored person then found by a person with no life
