SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - San Francisco has the most wireless Internet "hot spots" in the United States while Seoul topped the list worldwide, an Internet directory showed.
There are 801 "wi-fi" or wireless fidelity points in San Francisco where people with laptop computers could get broadband connections to the Internet, according to JiWire online hot-spot directory based in South San Francisco.
While tops in the United States, San Francisco ranked fifth in the world behind Paris, London, Tokyo and Seoul.
JiWire listed 2,056 wi-fi spots in Seoul and 1,802 in Tokyo. The directory had 1,627 hot spots in London and 950 in Paris.
New York City came in second in the United States with 643 hot spots and Chicago ranked third with 501.

All over the place free broadband is showing up and somehow isp's think they can start a two teired system where you have to pay to use p2p, or to play online with your games any high bandwith using applications they want to charge extra to use.
