    Smile Private P2P Program?

Hello everybody I am new here but I am not new to the P2P Scene

    so to my question

I know how to run a private HTTP server with accounts for my friends to download but i am interested in the possibility of getting a program where i can create a private network where people only with accounts that i make can download and they can all share their files aswell.

is there any programs like this?
ive searched google and looked through the program lists but im not sure which might be best

I use a small and easy to use program called HFS File Server. Just set it up with a neutral name and password for your friends.

thats for the response but funny thing is thats the HTTP server I use but since I only have 40 KB/sec UP when i have atleast 3 friends using it, it slows to a snail

so im more looking for something where my friends can share their files but i have controll over the network

    like who passwords/usernames

You can have control over it, also as you host it and allow certain usernames in only. If you want to share with all your friends, you still have to split your upload with all of them, that's the way it works.

None that I know of, I'm Googling now. You could all have a copy of HFS running, you each have your own address you can visit (and name) and download the contents of each others folders. You could also use BT and Azureus and host your own Private torrents that require passwords.

FYI, no P2P is safe. It depends on where you live.

Unless you are the following people, I do not particularly wish to associate with you:

That's it for now. This list will be updated whenever I feel like it.

And unfotunately, as noted above already, the real limitation is your own upload speed................will make large files, ie flics, a real pain in the ass...................you can try Project Neon out too, theres a really cool guide someone wrote for people to check out (:D), similar, though not data file capable, only media, ie video, audio, compliant.

But, its also useful in that can either simply stream the files amongst users, or also download them as well. Simply have each perosn create an account with a password, and you add them to a "group" which you create and manage. With each group, and so far as each user, you can also decide what rights each has to the media you make available, which also is privately shared and not of public acess unless you so choose.

This could also be a useful way of having a P2P setup with your friends, it just depends on what your needs are. I dont believe you can stream with a HTTP server, so if you want to watch a buddy's flic, for instance, and dont want to wait forever to download considering again your upload speeds, you can just stream the sucker and watch it right off the bat.
