    locked out of file

I just spent a few days downloading a winrar file, and when I finally got to it, it was password protected. I went through their little porn registration and everything, but there was never an obvious password that I was supposed to use for the winrar file. Is there any way around a winrar password? Or is there any way to avoid getting a file (using bittorrent) that has a password on it before you start the download? I've had this problem a few times, and it annoys the crap out of me. Why do people set up passwords in the first place? Not really any point in sharing something if you're just going to lock people out of it anyway.

They do it to spite you and to get you to register at their spam and fraud sites. Search BT and just make sure it's not in a RAR archive first. Search the file name here - http://www.torrentz.com - It searches multiple sites quickly. It's not exactly the same concept for sharing when you download from a server. it's not P2P the way you got it. You can always use a BT site for your distinguished videos - http://www.empornium.us/

You dont have to delete it, thats why public trackers suck.. People from all over can upload bogus files, password files, and sh!t. The thing you can do is use some brute force to open it.. Look at torrentspy for winrar program that tries to break the code.

Whoops, my bad. If I ever post a site I know just the name of and not the end, I always post .com (old habit)

Brute force on these passwords which are most commonly web addresses (IE. 10+ characters) means there are 10 billion possibilities and brute force, would eventually crack it but in a short life time. Sometimes going elsewhere is the best solution.

People standin on top of the white house, there's people standin up on capital hill...
They stand up there, sound like they know something...
They all still wake up in the morning, drink a cup of coffee and take a shit, they aint better than I am.
And they dance around a problem... say this... talk about the eco-nomic imp-li-cations...

But their grandfather, great great grandfather, was just like my great great grandfather, just a bunch of monkeys swingin up in trees shittin in the woods.
