Fasterfox is a plugin for the Firefox internet browser that allows for Performance and network tweaks. Fasterfox allows you to tweak many network and rendering settings such as simultaneous connections, pipelining, cache, DNS cache, and initial paint delay. Dynamic speed increases can be obtained with the unique prefetching mechanism, which recycles idle bandwidth by silently loading and caching all of the links on the page you are browsing. Fasterfox also includes a flash blocking plugin.
Download Fasterfox 1.0.2 Here
i have been using Fasterfox 1.0.1 for quite sometime now
whts new in 1.0.2? :icon_rend
I've been using 1.0.1 for awhile myself.I guess I would upgrade but I can't get the link to work.
If only there was a way to find what you are looking for on the internet.
I don't need no stinking signature
If the link isn't working you can also try http://fasterfox.mozdev.org/
Hmmmm, I'll have to give this a go as the speed of Firefox has been the main reason I bitch about it.
Thanks
Hard as ever and here to make you people believe...as long as there is one person to hold hope and dream...A GOD...will never die!
Be aware of the fact that this is a prefetcher that pre- caches all links on the page you are viewing. An unneccesary waste of bandwidth and creates heavy load on webservers.Originally Posted by Mels_Smileys45
I would recommend using firetune instead

why again are we worried about other sites?
i mean WE wont make no difference on a site compared to millions of people who cares as long as we get ours
"Hands down your pants"
Yeah but if a lot of zp'ers started to use fasterfox we would all suffer.Originally Posted by kokanezub

That would defeat the purpose of fasterfox. The whole point of it is to cache the pages.Originally Posted by waqasr
And Mels,
I've used firetune. There is no setup to it. You hit a couple buttons and you're done. It's dummy proof.
I dont mean to be rude but i think you didnt read the posts properly!Originally Posted by davec8

so i replied that you can turn it off.
The custom settings tht i experimented with, gave me very good speed and it was with Pre-caches UNCHECKED.First of all tht is not the only option on there to speedup Firefox tht's just one of the options.
by just unchecking one of the options how can you say "That would defeat the purpose of fasterfox"
i dont agree bcoz it wastes alot of unneccesary bandwidth.
Holly crap......My Firefox is so much faster NOW.
Thanks for the tip "waqasr"
