    Fasterfox 1.0.2

Fasterfox is a plugin for the Firefox internet browser that allows for Performance and network tweaks. Fasterfox allows you to tweak many network and rendering settings such as simultaneous connections, pipelining, cache, DNS cache, and initial paint delay. Dynamic speed increases can be obtained with the unique prefetching mechanism, which recycles idle bandwidth by silently loading and caching all of the links on the page you are browsing. Fasterfox also includes a flash blocking plugin.

    Download Fasterfox 1.0.2 Here

I've been using 1.0.1 for awhile myself.I guess I would upgrade but I can't get the link to work.
If only there was a way to find what you are looking for on the internet.

Hmmmm, I'll have to give this a go as the speed of Firefox has been the main reason I bitch about it.

    Thanks

Be aware of the fact that this is a prefetcher that pre- caches all links on the page you are viewing. An unneccesary waste of bandwidth and creates heavy load on webservers.

I would recommend using firetune instead

Yeah but if a lot of zp'ers started to use fasterfox we would all suffer.

you can uncheck tht in custom settings!

    open FireFox -> tools->options->Fasterfox->custem
    FasterFox uncheck enable enhanced prefetching

i have also tried FireTune its not bad but Fasterfox has more to offer. With some custom settings its even faster then IE. :icon_sant

That would defeat the purpose of fasterfox. The whole point of it is to cache the pages.

    And Mels,
I've used firetune. There is no setup to it. You hit a couple buttons and you're done. It's dummy proof.

so i replied that you can turn it off.

The custom settings tht i experimented with, gave me very good speed and it was with Pre-caches UNCHECKED.First of all tht is not the only option on there to speedup Firefox tht's just one of the options.
by just unchecking one of the options how can you say "That would defeat the purpose of fasterfox"
i dont agree bcoz it wastes alot of unneccesary bandwidth.
