Ok I am doing a survey to see whether or not you guys think that we should start setting up our news like Unitethecows so that every post would go to the forums and has to be accepted by a moderator? I have seen so many complaints about the way Zeropaid allows the news to be spammed as it is, I would like you guys to decide.

I think it should be given a little more time. The moderating is getting better. Some of those other sites think the grapes are sour.

Well I'm startin to get sick of those people talking about the "evils" of the drug companies and such. I think alot of this could be cured by simply only allowing registered users to comment on news.

i don't even read the posts, the only time i did was for the one about ZalZah and posted a link for a thread, so i don't really care.

Then again, i think that one thing should be changed. That is the names, it would be good to have registered users post there cause you really do get some crap from wierdos! Like Aaron73153 said.

"Kept as is" is my poll and it's winning. Spam is spam for one and not for the other. If we would begin to restrict the posts at news, I think that would be non-equality and the quality against amount could be worse after a while.
This is quite an open site for all kinds of stuff and opinions etc...
If someone have too much time to do nothing else than to blame the news, that should ne considered as his/her's problem...This is (or should be) a free world - why making it less free here, because I've seen TOOOOoooo many restrictions made for one of our basic freedoms : that is to write and read without becoming a "criminal".
Maybe we should split the news section to 2 pieces : 1 for all and second for the "inner circle", still allowing the quests to read both of them...?

No.. I dont like to copy other sites setup. What works for them may not work here. As for the news section i think what would work best would be the following..

1. Moderating(needed badly)
2. High time post limits(to discourage people from using the news comments like a forum)
3. Registered only(last resort)

I agree, the problem is the same news story gets posted twice. I always check the news section, so that won't happen if I am moderator. High time post limits might work also.

I think, that IP-banning is not same as moderating. But I understand the situation : 1 or 2 peeps can make the whole news-site annoying by spamming there, what they want (and what we don't want!).

But must it always be like this. I've seen it happening at too many situations : 1-2% of people are making things hard (examples are a lot - many laws have been made out just for that 1% anarchy people's cause and then everyone has to suffer of those...).

So, let's close the section for free people that just do not want to register and still are making a goood job by posting innovative and interesting news out there (because of few "anarchists")...

BUT - what I understand, is the fact that those "bad guys" are "on market" here as registered users too. So what's the difference : now they can spam under the shield of forum's memberity...

Seen many threads where people are spamming / provocating (Sephi just closed one "shareaza"-case for that). So they can continue freely at news : Make sitates of their own writings and say that source is Reuters ;-)
ETC...

The more restrictions, the more anarchy. That has been true for over 6000 years now, so why would it end here and now? We people seem to have a slow evolution speed vs. the amount of growing information and technology we have....
(considering mostly of those ones, that "let the monkeys out of gage" ;-)

Why so you can continue to spam the news comments and mess them up so no one else can post just because you dont like the discussion or people dont pay attention to you probably because you cannot post in a complete sentence.

I think if banning people is started then you should be the first one banned then the aol guy spamming his crap about pharmacutial companies.. You have been getting away with too much too long IMO.

And again we get the situation, where Big Site would be banned because of few people not understanding the "basic invisible rules" of good behaviour...That really is NOT a decision for the main problem : those (few) people themselves...

Not all have the money to pay ISP-bills, they can be from $10 up to $200 (and more)/ month and they make us to pay for their "goodies and content" that we won't even need! Many 28-56k owners will stay with those free IC's having no compulsion of takin' awards more than some spam-mails which can be filtered out with dedicated apps...
Besides AOL does take money (they give certain amount of "hours-free" and then begin to charge! You can go there by "anonymizer", generate social-security codes, use black-marketed Visa-Accounts etc and create those free hours over and over again. Hey, this is the world we live in...

So as I noted, IP-banning is no problem for those using fake names with anonymizers, that's all of IP's (and modem users do not have static ones either...).

So, where's the actual problem and it's solution - please, Sephi or Someone, answer to me too, I'm feeling too stupid today to understand :
a). What can be done, b). what will be done, c). how does that affect to the real case. I really do know one fact and that is : if the news section will be restricted to members only, it will not stop the spamming, because who ever can be a member here (with fakes or not) and do the dirty job from here.
Secondly, if U start to read and filter / modify all da news, how can we ever more trust, whether the rest are original or "moderated"....
If that day comes, I simply begin to read the news from reuters, cnn, google, altavista, yahoo etc..., where the fact of the facts is as weak as here ;-)

Those ones I agree totally :
Let the prince flame his princess somewhere else, because those are no actual news (IRC would be a good place for kids like them).

I've seen too many fanatics and lunatics ay my 43 years (remembering only about 38 y of it ;-) and that has been happening at all ages, races, countries - simply to say : at whole world, and I think it's not stoppin' for next 1000 years either (and that's always the 1% of us - affecting hard to us 99% rest people, who have the sences of reality (still) in a good shape)

And links to porn or warez sites : Yes, they must be chopped by a few reasons :
1. Kids under 15y are visiting here!
2. They who need them can change linkz at PM's and P2P-apps chat screens, IRC etc...
3. If they should remain, I believe that this whole site could be banned by Central Intelligence Agency or some other org. dedicated for tending the Internet's look and feel...

P.S. Just as a notice - U make a hard work with reading all da skit through (do U?) and that really takes resources of other doings. Wouldn't it be nice that people just change and write politely and correctly, no flamin', no politics, no compulsion-tryings to force us make this and that.

As for news mods, although they do quite a job, I don't like the idea of censorship, especially on a site that purports to be against it.
