    Oink: Christmas Present.

For all you oink.me.uk users out there...........

    http://oink.me.uk/index.php

"Between the 24th of December and the 1st of January GMT (inclusive), downloading will not affect your share ratio in any way.

We will still be recording uploaded amounts, but ignoring downloaded. For those of you who don't often download because you are concerned it will affect your stats too much, now is your chance to get everything you've wanted.
Similarly, those of you who are struggling to maintain a decent share ratio, now's your chance to seed everything you've previously downloaded or upload your own stuff, knowing that it will probably be downloaded much more.

Because we don't want the site to be flooded with new users hoping to cash in on this, users who joined after December 23rd are not included in this and all stats will still be recorded as normal. If this proves too much for us to handle, we may cut this short, but really hope that won't be the case.

    Merry Christmas! http://oink.me.uk/pic/smilies/santa.gif

IMHO oink is just another regular torrent site, same stuff which u get other sites and torrent and search engines that dont ban clients, or people, or think they are bigger than GOD

I think you are clearly mistaken. This sounds more like a case of sour grapes. Oink has tons of stuff you won't easily find anywhere else.

Are you a current member of oink. It has the largest torrent collection of music on the planet with the highest seed/leecher ratios you could possibly find.

There is no better place for music.

In my opinion, I would amend this to say that there is no better torrent site for music. :icon_rabb Trust me, there are definetely better (in terms of sheer quantity or guaranteed quality, but rarely both at once) places for music.

Not to say I don't like oink. their rules can seem a little strict (especially if you can't hear the difference in an mp3>cd conversion done at 128kb/s and one done at 320 or to one of the ap spec) and different moderators seem to apply them differently at times but, all in all, there is no better all around music community in the BT galaxy. Also, on the one negative issue I ever had at OiNK, I found the moderator I spoke with there to be understanding and respectful- not at all like what other people seem to have experienced, for whatever reason.

And thats the truth right there, ferrarimodena must have had a personal problem there. black_magiic is right, sour grapes!
Also, bitme.org is offering a 2 for 1 upload credit for the week starting Dec. 25th.

    Fun idea.
I don't use oink too much but for some reason, when I seeded a huge file I downloaded to 1 and then deleted it from the queue, it never registered, so I have to share everything there now to 2 or 3 to keep my ratio getting back to 1.

That depends on what type of music you listen to.

Agreed, what i really meant was this is the best source for music torrents.
I will admit though they are very strict and do piss off a lot of people, but thats why there are soo many seeds on their torrents. People are too scared to leech cos they're in for a quick ban.

True also, there is almost no christian content on oink. But fortunately there are other excellent sources.

There is now this message on the site:

The site is running slowly because of the sheer number of users browsing at a time - more than twice what it normally is.
Once you have found what you want and started downloads/bookmarked torrents, please stop browsing the site to make it faster for everyone else.

I wonder if they'll keep the free downloads running til Jan 1st like they say, I doubt it at this rate.
