Parents risk large fines from online music

Parents who give their offspring digital music players - such as Apple’s iPod -as Christmas presents are being warned that they risk being hit by hefty fines, amounting to thousands of pounds, if their children download pirate tracks illegally.

MP3 players will be at the top of Christmas lists across the country and most of the music that will be played on them will come from the web. According to research released today, half the music will be downloaded from sites that breach copyright laws and do not charge fees for each track.

Despite record labels in Britain succeeding in hundreds of cases against illegal downloaders, with some people forced to pay fines of up to £6,500, "peer-to-peer" music sites continue to thrive, with millions of users sharing music illegally online.

Newspaper fodder to increase dwindling sales due to poor products and a real technology shift to on demand, zero royality entertainment without obtrusive commerical announcements.

Is it not a feat sublime? Intellect hath conquered time.

its funny how they can sell a product and then say you might get in legal trouble for buying it.......... i guess its like with cigerettes ...... they can sell death to everyone and then be like ...opp, if you smoke this you might die........... but its all good with the government......... its almost in a way a scam ...... they make up the money they lose from these lawsuites and more .......... its in a way like if you were in a gang infested neighborhood and they send thugs to shake you down if you dont pay them for protection......... the same principle is in effect cause if you dont play along with there game then you get sued and with most of the population they are afraid of this due to having to daily provide for there family.......... its amusing though we all pay state and federal taxs and yet are own government protects the enterprises when its visible on whats going down instead of backing up the ones that allowing them to even exist....... dont worry though you can always look at this as a minor stepping stone towards what we and even are kids children get to look forwards to if nothing is done towards this tryflin activity
Any Windows problems is easly fixed with a gun or baseball bat ......
