I fucking despise the MPAA with a passion

I hate the MPAA, i think that the way they use the rating system to weed out what they think is offensive or not to standards is a way for them to stifle artistic license

lets face it, movies with an "R" rating make less because alot of the general audience has been weeded out

this means we still get good movies but they don't make much and are fewer and far inbetween in relation to frequency of "R" releases

good movies have to cut the words "shit" and "fuck" out of thier movies because too many "bad words" will corrupt the youth of america, whereas the film makers can leave rape, bloody gore, violence, sensless violence and graphic and demaning sex (which i happen to enjoy (well the sex part at least :black )) without any fear of reprecussions from the MPAA

a bunch of conservative rich white men telling us what we can or cant watch

    I fucking hate the MPAA

How did the MPAA get changed to the RIAA in this post? They are two different entities.

Personally, I don't hate the MPAA nearly as much as the RIAA. I may in the future though if they employ all the same tactics the RIAA is using today.

At least when you buy a DVD, you get a reasonable value for your money. $20 buys a good quality movie with surround sound, and usually a fair amount of extra material. With CD's you get 2 or 3 decent songs for $15 and usually nothing else.

I rip DVDs; But I buy em too. I rip CDs; But I no longer buy em.

As for useless posts: Let the guy spout off. It can't hurt anything eh.

What's the big deal with MPAA?

You are complaining without knowing what you are talking about. The rating system is not their fault. I realize the rating system is bullshit...but hey, it's the do-gooders, super sensitive super christians, and other overly sensitive religious nuts that try to control and sensor stuff that you should be mad at by dictating how the MPAA should rate its stuff.

    Angry MPAA FUCKED ME

yes i was running a hundred gig server with over 130 divx movies and transfering 40+ gigs a day on my schools edu line... untill the mpaa stepped in and reported me... school turned on my internet and it took over two weeks to get it back on. i was threated with legal action by the mpaa for copywrite, and by the school for raping their bandwidth and going againt the terms of service or someshit. lady said i was one of the top five uploaders the week before i got shut down... with an undergraduate class of around 45k.. i was pretty proud of top five... since that run in, and not being able to share files because of occasional port scans by the school and monitored bandwidth usage, its gotten harder to get the things i want, movies, software, and albums... or at least now i can't get them as soon or as quick...
mpaa also reported other members of my crew and since our irc channel has closed.. fuck of MPAA... and yeah i should have been able to go see an "R" rated movie wheni was 15 if i wanted!

OK first thing is not all cds have only 2 or 3 decent songs, any GOOD cds will have almost all good songs. So just make your choices wisely (listen to the music & read reviews before you buy) and you won't be wasting your money.

And DVDs are expected to contain less extra material in the future, so cherish it while you can.
