    Smile A positive note

So in the midst of running all these different programs, i managed to kick the about:blank hijacker in the ass, it's been about 5 days of my homepage and counting. I think it was the "CoolWebSearch Shreadder" program the got it. However i'm still having trouble with choppy music when i run an application while listening to music. i got WinPatrol, but i'm not really sure what to do with it. that's all i got for now.

Cj, darling, dear, LIGHT of my life . . slow down a little

Youve got him right where he needs to be, dont drop the ball.

While in Task Manager, click the CPU tab, and arrange the srvices by CPU usage.

The System Idle Processes means how much your CPU is NOT doing anything, so higher is better.

Be advised that you can not use P2P apps and play videos together unless you have a pretty robust system. Also - do NOT play videos unless you have defragged that disc volume!

Do you basic clean up and defrags first, watch Task Manager from a fresh reboot, and see whats what. If you spend less than an hour on this, go away, dont waist our time.

I had this problem once, on a fairly high end machine too. The problem was a conflict between the Soundblaster Audigy software and Winamp. I uninstalled every Soundblaster application, leaving only the drivers.

Personally, I think c-J and Krell-J covered it.

I would nuke it from orbit though.... only way to be sure...

Hehehe good one, did you mean "Nuke it for morbid... it's the only way to be sure"?

    Nice reference!

.. pretty sure it's "from orbit". "for morbid" doesn's make any sense to me.
You could be right, though.. I mean, you may be synthetic, but you're not stupid.
