I have forwarded port 6881 and it still says NAT error

I am using azureus and have forwarded ports 6881-6889 on my viking router.
But when i test it it still says NAT error. I have a green light.
In the tracker status when i am downloading, it says connection error (timeout)
    Please help.

First of all, I wouldnt use ports 6881-6889, Id use something far higher...reasons as follows..

Your client is reporting to the tracker that it uses one of the default bittorrent ports (6881-6889) or any other common p2p port for incoming connections.
TorrentIt does not allow clients to use ports commonly associated with p2p protocols. The reason for this is that it is a common practice for ISPs to throttle those ports (that is, limit the bandwidth, hence the speed).
The blocked ports list include, but is not neccessarily limited to, the following:

    Direct Connect
    411 - 413
    Kazaa 1214
    eDonkey 4662
    Gnutella 6346 - 6347
    BitTorrent 6881 - 6889

Id use 40,000 or higher but thats just me, do some research and decide what works best for you......also u do need to do as Krell says and disable the XP firewall, make sure to download peer guardian 2 though......google it and read up on it..............

    Where are you?

    Home, dorm, campus, detroit?

When you look at your connection properties, is your IP a 192.?.?.? address?

Read the other BT thread and answer those same questions there, were too tired to retype them all.

    Nat error

    Check out these links:

    http://azureus.aelitis.com/wiki/inde...oadband_Modems

    http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm

Plus do a search in Google for IP address. You then need to get your IP and type it in the options in Azureus. This is all a Bitch, but once you read up on it you should be able to eventually fix the problem.

    Have Fun

This is prob whats he's missing, he can use http://www.whatismyip.com/

Albeit if he is on campus, all this is a moot point.

    I am at home.
Where do i find my connection properties, so i can tell you? I clicked connection but cant find any properties.
right now my download goes at 12KBs then drops to around 5KBs.

Say clearly what the problem is
-> Say what client you are using: I am using azureus.
-> Say whether you are on SP1 or 2: what is this? I am on windows xp home edition 2002
-> The exact setup of your network/ how your computer is connected to the net: I have a 512/128kb adsl connection, it is done through a viking router, and my modem is the netcomm nb3.
-> All the software you are running: Azureus, Avast anti vuris.
-> What you have done so far to try and resolve the problem Disable the windows firewall, forward ports 6881, 6889, change the azureus port to 16889.

PLEASE HELP. THE DOWNLOADS PRETTY MUCH ONLY GO 5KB/s

    Seeds

Check how many seeders you have for the Torrent. The more the better. All you have to worry about is that you have green smiley faces and that you see a green dot on the bottom of Azureus with how many users are online. If you have that you should be connecting alright.

Some Torrents can take days depending on the size and how many seeders you have.
