    help needed-problem connecting to tracker

    Hi all,

I am new to "bit torrent" and to this forum. I will be very glad if you can help me.

I downloaded and installed Bit Tornado and a couple of torrent files. Then I double clicked on one of the torrent files which I downloaded from on of the popular torrent seacrh engines. Bit tornado tried to connect Than a couble of minutes later an error which says: "EROR- Problem connecting to tracker " appeared on the window pf the Bit tornado.

How can I fix this "tracker problem". I will be very glad if ou can help me to fix this problem.

    THANKS

Change your tracker by selecting the same torrent from a different source.

PS: I resized the font of your post. It's not necessary for it to be that big, we can all read (hopefully)

The tracker may be for a private site that you are not registered to.

Use the first part of the tracker address and paste it in a web page and see what the site policy is.

Or, find another site that has a tracker for the same file.

    Hi all-

Thanks for replying. Your answers helped me. Thanks for it.

By the way I have RTL8139(A/B/C/D/8130)/810X PCI . How can I do the "port forwarding" for this device. Because otherwise it seems the download eould be much slower than it is supposed to be. Does anyone have info on that one?

    THANKS

The networl card on your PC converts data and packages it for transport - to where ever, but does not act as a router, or firewall. When we refer to "Port forwarding" we imply that you have a router, and need to allow a certain port to communicate thru, like a keyhole.

IF YOU have a router then read this - http://portforward.com/
