YES, it looks like it going to happen.
With the release of the first client version of MediaSeek, it was only promising by theory. Now with the release of the second client version and the update of the website, it proves to be promising in reality aswell.
Check it out for yourself at www.mediaseek.pl
Iam sure to keep my eye on this one :green6
got as far as the first install screen where it says
"we can provide this copy of mediaseek.pl client for free because it is supported by advertising delivered via the Gator advertising and information network"
no thanks.

geez this program looks so promising as you said, but I have 50 files in queue and still after many hours of leaving it on - no downloads.
Just manually remove gator from startup, run Ad-Aware 5 to clean up the adware, go to C:\Program Files\MediaSeek, and delete the fsg_3210.exe (gator file). That should remove the crap. Use Taskmanager to end the fsg_3210.exe process if you have to.Originally posted by grab_grab_the_haddock

Ok, I guess I'll need to figure out a way to use MediaSeek with my firewall, because it doesn't work unless it's not running.
I see there is still doubt!
The problem with MSeek is that at the moment it doesnt have a lot of users yet. I share over a 1000mp3s there and know of a couple of friends who do this aswell. So although files seem online it may take a while for them to start.
On the other hand i've found that running MSeek doesnt interfer with other P2P apps like WinMX, KaZaa and Edonkey
This means you can run it to the side of your prefered P2Pprogram and help this community grow.
REMEMBER AG WASNT FULL GROWN OVER NIGHT!!!:;)
Good posts cerialnumber, and I think also mediaseek could be massive, but will it suffer the same fate as AG:shoot
MSeek is situated in Poland, therefor the RIAA cant get to it!!!
And how hard to you think the RIAA are trying to get a base in Poland right now??
I wish MediaSeek the best of luck tho. But they should also be working on a backup plan for the network for the day the RIAA get a suit on them in their own country, then.. flip the switch and flip the RIAA off. I hope MediaSeek have the sense to do this.

i've said this many times on threads on mediaseek. it needs time to develop users and files.
I myself never got to use AG because by the time I didn it was down....If this is going ta be like AG I want ta try and and find out....
I didnt know that Mediaseek was based in poland so could not be touched by RIAA. Thats fantastic, lets hope the program gets developed quickly and more users come very soon:fire
ya know what? mediaseek IS working with my firewall...i must of been smoking something, lol...
anyway, i've downloaded roughly 25 songs in the past 2 days. of course i had to leave about 175 songs in queue!!!
but the program works, so use it every once in a while, eh?
and how would you rate the range and quality of mp3?
if they got lame 192+ rips , and rare stuff to boot ill go for it.
if all they got is the latest eminem ripped at 96Kbs i think ill pass.

I'm with you Haddock (omega 3's num num). Yeah I'm always focusing on the posts here that address new FTP's programs and what people think. It always cracks me up that the latest one is always "the best " with some people. Best what? Best looking? Has some nice colors?
For people that have been downloading since Napster started (what a great day that was huh?) all that matters is the availability of files. And at this point since you've probably gotten a good chunk of everything you've ever wanted the real barometer of a site to me is how will it handle the hard to find file, the rare one, something definetely out of the mainstream. When they come up zero there useless to me. I can get that from the programs i already have.
The latest "best" i've seen here a few times is Soulseek. Ofcourse it's all subjective but i guess I can't get past the fact that nothing compares to Audiogalaxy. I could go find an album in my basement that my Grandmother owned from 50 years ago.close my eyes and pick a song and AG would have it. THATS THE "BEST". Not something that "looks" like another site or has nice graphics. Give me the files no matter how strange they are. Was it because it was web based that AG was so good? If so when another one like that comes out then I'll get excited again.
