    Preveiwing video files in eD2k.

    Hi.

I'm having difficulty previewing video files in eD2k. Most of the time, they play for a few seconds or less than a second, even when having more than a 1/4 of the file. I've been to options and made the defaulted nine (which is meant as MB'S) to zero, which makes it unlimited, and 'theoretically' should play exactly what a person has transfered. Though, it still has the same characteristics.

I've used all file types to try and preview, ie DivX, MPEG,Xvid and WMV, yet they all suffer form the same effects. I don't have any problems with playing the files once downloaded, which seems it totally contradicts any problems that could cause them to play incorrectly, indeed corruptly. Even with simple MPEG's, I can't even preview the amount of file I have transfered correctly in eD2k.

On the contrary, the other P2P programs I use, don't have any problem preveiwing the file, ie LimeWire and Bittorrent.

    Thanks for your time.

PS. It's happened ever since I have been introduced to eD2k, which was 1.0.

I use eMule Plus, it let me use VLC Player with eMule plug-in for VLC Player for previews! In addition, VLC Player as standalone player can play almost anything. :icon_thum

I never had this problem before. Mostly the movies I download are in winrar and i download one of the rar files past number 10, and change it to VOB to see the quality.. As well as your problem lies in the fact your missing so many pieces of the file that it wont play because its missing the most importent parts to have it continue past a few seconds.

    Thanks for your response.

As for eMule, DigItal Junkie, I don't like it. I much prefer eD2k for it's content, and indeed the Overnet network. By far. And the 'credit' system offered by eMule, is nowhere near as resourceful as 'Horde,' by eD2k. Though, I might give eMule a go for the KAD network. Other than that, I'll stick with eD2k. Albeit, Lite.

I should of stated before that I've used all media players, to find a solution.

Thanks for the insight into 'parts', Shawner. Indeed, thanks for your time, Digital Junkie.
