Hello everyone, so how are things going so far? Well, things here are about the same and I am here again to ask a very stupid question, and I hope with a little luck I can get some what of a smart answer, however as lost as I am, who knows what is going to happen.
Alright, I have a nice library of songs, but sometimes I come a cross a song that hasn’t been downloaded all that well, mainly I think the word is the song has been spoofed (is that what you call it)? Well anyway, is there some tool that you can use to delete these files? Or am I wishing for a miracle, of course I don’t want to have to pay for it, but it would be nice to have a tool that can get rid of those types of files. Could it be possible to come up with something like that?
Thanks
you want a app to delete a file is that right
there is a button on ure keyboard (unless its missing a few) that will perform this action
its called the "delete" key and it should be mounted just to the right of ure "enter/return" key
with practice u should get the hang of it
.
jk
I guess your still using kazaa or shareaza and possibly ares and winmx. I only download scene releases unless its been out and in flac. You need to use a network that wont give you songs that are corrupted, cause later it piss you off when you get around to hearing the song and the album has long gone from the p2p network or isnt as popular.
Things are about the same as what? This is your first post. You are here again? Who were you before? Clue us in or I will Jack Bauer you in 24.Originally Posted by alwayswondering

Well it has been about 2 years since I have been to this site, and I really cannot remember the name I was under at that time, but be sure that I was not a person that ever caused any problems. I guess I left because I got board with it, no offence to anyone personal, you just move on.Originally Posted by Lord_of_the_Dense
So I guess my next question to everyone is, how the heck have you been? And whats new? I do have a lot of files to share, but don’t know where to go anymore, I want to get going again but don’t know where to start. Any help would be great.
Load up every P2P network and SHARE SHARE SHARE boss...We need good people like you...
How I have beat this spoofing thing is that when I do catch a file that has been played with I will not offer it as a download in my files. The problem that I have seen is that a lot of people through out the sites are letting these files live by not deleting them. I have seen in the comment boxes of a few that the files are corrupt or what ever.
If I happen to find a file that is like this I will always delete it as soon as possible because I don’t want this file to get out anywhere, and it seems to me that if more people would do this them the chances of these files getting downloaded would be greatly less. I could be wrong about this, but it does sound logical. What I can’t understand is why someone would want these files on their computer; if they are no good then you must delete them. The only way it is going to stop in my mind is if people fight back.
I have heard in the past that some companies in the music industry have rooms filled with computers and they pay people just to sit there and download music and corrupt them as much as possible and share them so that when people download them it makes it look like someone else, so it seems. I say, the heck with these people, if the files are good and clean then we should come up with some sort of a code that will tell us all that they are for real. Now I am dreaming!
Telling others that the files are corrupt is the easiest way to get rid of them. Previewing files before completion is another way. If the preview will not load, then you might have a bad file. If the file is rare, or you really want the file then continue downloading.Originally Posted by alwayswondering
The system works because people leave authentic comments and generally delete what is corrupted by machine or nefarious corporations.
Is it not a feat sublime? Intellect hath conquered time.
Sorry it took me so long to reply to your question. Really what I was looking for was a program that would scan the files, namely MP3 files and determine if they are corrupt or spoofed if that is the word used. I have had files in the past that the song starts out good, but then they are kind of like scrambled, you would think that by now someone would come up with some sort of a program that would scan each file and by the signal or wav form would be able to pick these out. I have tried in the past a program that was called a MP3 scanner, and it would remove corrupt MP3’s but it wouldn’t remove the ones that needed to be removed. I have had files that start out for the first 30 seconds, and it will keep repeating those 30 seconds over and over again.Originally Posted by rustyranger
With today’s technology you would almost think that someone would have come up with something like this, I know that it would be hard or a program to interpret these signals, because everything is always different, however in my own mind, if someone was to do something like this, it sure would save a lot of time when you are downloading a song. As for some software that I have downloaded, I really haven’t ever ran into a problem with anything, it just happens with Mp3’s or wav files.
If I happen to run across something that has been messed with, I always delete that file and try to down load a clean file, then and only then will I add that to my library to share with other people. I want the music that I share to be good, not doctored up. I have also noticed every so often that, some files that I have downloaded have had been doctored up by the users, either to make them have more bass or whatever, this can cause problems with other people who want clean downloads.
You my friend are right, it would be easier to tell people that the files are corrupt, yet the thing that does bother me is, that if the file is corrupt why you would even keep it just to tell people that the file is corrupt. It isn’t helping anyone, you know what I mean?Originally Posted by Afn

Im still laughing at people who say scene releases
Hard as ever and here to make you people believe...as long as there is one person to hold hope and dream...A GOD...will never die!
Why laugh? Scene release comes out way before retail and even close to the street day, they release retail. Its the only way to tell which files to download off usenet.. XXL behind each song in the header, or RNS behind it with the NFO of how it was ripped and byte rate and any info needed.. As well as an SFV file to check the integrity to make sure you got all the bytes in the song. And if its crap, it gets nuked and they have to up a proper release or someone will come along and do it. You would download it faster if everyone wasnt renaming it and it keeps getting hashed into different sources.
