What is recommended BT settings w/ onling gaming?

I have another comp on my linksys router playing online games. But for my computer what is the recomended settings to download files via ABC? I want it to be stable so i't won't lose internet connection. My max download is 150 and max upload is 40 kbps. Please help because I am always getting logged off. Even for this testing purposes, I have disabled all firewalls and antiviruses on my computer but i'm not sure about the other comp. I keep my connections 60 peers. Any advice is appreciated.

Yeah, I asked this question back in the day - pretty much everyone recommended that I just keep BT off while the other computer is playing games. If it's possible, just run BT when no one else is on - like overnight or during the day when everyone's at work / school.

If you absolutely can't run it when no one's around, keep the upload as far down as possible - it'll take longer to download, but it'll ensure the other computer's performance is as smooth as possible.

So that's what everbody recommends? Let me break away from the crowd here for a minute and ask that isn't it possible to use my bandwidth for online gaming, but switch it over to their torrent client when they I'm no't playing automatically. By now you'll probably answer me with the same old answer as every other follower in this somewhat useful forum: it's either all the way canon to the left or all the way canon to the right. Well, what about cannon in the middle?

So now let me see you all stand in awe that I use a program that does just that. It allows me to create custome rules for different protocol and program priorities. It also comes with pre-set rules that work great for most people, including torrenting gamers!

Now whenever the online game isn't being played, the bandwidth prioritizes the speed and upload of the torrent client and browsing experience all the same time. Even better, when playing the online game, the bandwidth prioriztes the game's program but at the same time keep the torrent's client speed and upload AT MAXIMUM SPEED.

For example, when the online game is not being played in my case, the torrent xfers @ a rate of 40 kbps upload and unlimited download speed, but once the online game starts, the gaming experiences a prioritized bandwidght of smooth playability, yet at the same time the torrent is also xferring at 30 kbps and at 150 kbps. Of course, my ISP bandwidth is limited but in other people's case the numbers will be higher yet similar in ratio.

Another note, previously when uploading at 40 kbps with BT, it would throttle and hog up the online game's bandwith, so i would have to limit the uplaod to 30 kbps and the game's bandwidth would be bearable and somewhat noticable but still affecting the gaming experience and so again I would have to reduce to lower upload/download rate incrementally until the game is stable.

    NOW THAT'S ALL GONE.

The gaming is smooth even at 30 kbps upload and unlimited download rate, however, the gaming experience is barely even noticable by the naked eye when uplaoding the BT @ 40 kbps. So that's what I recommend to everyone. Or you can just stay in your comfort zone and recommend what you've always had. :hi

BTW, sorry, I ddin't mean to revive this threa --- actually, no... I'l revive this thread if I want to, $hit. It's not like anyone's gonna read this anyway - it's like old.
