I leave Azureus on while I sleep so no one in my family has slow internet speeds during the day. I had to get a new computer cause I fried the old one's motherboard. I also got the most updated version of Azureus. Now when I leave my downloads on when I sleep, my connection will stop. Not just the connection to Azureus. My whole connection including the connection to the other computers on my router. I have to unplug the modem and router and plug them back in to get my connection back. This never happened before on my old computer. It's really annoying seeing how it will disconnect shortly after I fall asleep and my downloads barely get any more downloaded. Kind of like it knows I feel asleep and turns off once I do. Anyone know how to solve this?
Narrow down the problem. Is it the modem or the router. Compare the state of the leds when the
connection is working and when it is not. Only power cycle one device and wait a few minutes.
What manufacturer and model are they?
Look for updated firmware for the router.
Reducing the maximum number of connections azeureus has open simultaneously may help a bit.
The most likly answer is to get a different less buggy router, preferably one that does not say "netgear" on it.

My connection disconnects while disconnecting.

Modem. I have C#@rter cable, 3mb. If I run high bandwidth for an extended period, I always have to power cycle my modem.

Let's see. The modem is a motorola and the router is a linksys. I kind of doubt that they are the problem seeing on how it would work perfectly before and I even had more stuff downloading. I'm going to limit my connections per torrent to see if that will help(most likely not)Originally Posted by zaphodiv

Well, I did some more looking and found out that this problem has started happening to a lot of people. Hopefully, azerues team will find the problem and issue a patch or something.
Right, so you get a new PC, and now its Azureus fault? I see, good luck with that.
.
Have you tried another client? I've heard that Azureus might have some compatiblity problems with certain motherboards or drivers. And less connections is certainly worth a try.
Another alternative- since this only happens when you sleep, try 24 No Doze pills every night, washed down with 12 cups of coffee. :icon_king
It was working fine right after I got my new computer. Then I got the most updated verison and started have this problem. Did the same thing this morning
napho, honestly, thats such a stretch!!Azureus might have some compatiblity problems with certain motherboards or drivers.
Lookit, it's very plausible that your NIC needs an updated driver, but until you block diagram this, and break it down in to testable small equations, it's all a bunch of hypothesis and guesstimation.
And when you say "got the most updated verison" you mean Azureus right? When you make statements, support them, clarify, WHAT did you get?
What java do you have?
How many files are you trying to dl and ul?
What other programs are running? Antivirus? Firewalls? WHICH ONES?
What is your network? ICS? Router? DSL \ Cable?
Unless you cough up some serious info, this threads pretty much dead.
.
NIC driver is updated. I checked that a couple days ago
Most recent version of Azerues is 2.3.0.4.
Java verison is 1.5.0_04.
I have 2 files downloading and 5 more on query. Uploading one.
Linksys Firewall router with a cable internet connection. Wired
When the problem happens, the modem and router still has the same led on as usually. All three computers (three on the network) has their lights on and my WAN lights are on as well
Is this enough information?
take your pc back and explain it to the security guard at the front door.. It wont do as good as blaming azuerus. but it may help to talk about it with someone who doesnt know what the problem could be.
Could it be your isp is blocking your access? I downloaded a bunch of gigs on mine and then all of a sudden my connection was locking out for no reason. This was shaw and I know they claim no download limit but a few friends of mine have been kicked off for downloading too much.
Another possibility is your motherboards lan. Nforce4 motherboards have a built-in firewall. That one gave me some problems at first as it did not want to install the drivers or firewall software. I couldnt ajust my settings and my connection was locked out.
