    TIP: Creating an invisible folder

Since the whole encrypt thing annoyed the hell out of me and I dont trust any third party encryption software, I know a little trick to make your folders invisible. Who needs the encryption if you can't see any folders? I can only imagine people know about this but here's what to do, simple really!

    1) - Create and new folder on the desktop and while the text is still highlighted, hold ALT and type 0160 on the numeric keypad. The name will now be blank so you can just click on the folder to set it.

    2) - Now it's name is blank, all you have to do is change the icon (file>properties>advanced>change icon) and select the icon from SHELL32.dll that is completely blank.

    3) - Posisiton your new found secret folder wherever you wish, I suggest in another empty folder to decieve someone who may be snooping. They'll think "um, ok it's empty" when it's not really. So enjoy!

great tip to hide things from people but hardly a replacement for encryption. Thanks for the trick but i'm sticking with pgp.

Well yeah it's no encryption replacement for normal people but for the lazy like myself who don't like passwords and such - it's perfect!

perfect unless someone runs a search and figures it out, or sees the suspicious blank spot in a detailed view

what is there worth hiding? pon? doc files?ll you have to do is search by obvious extensions and you'll find them, nameless folder or not

there's a solution, a whopping 10 seconds worth of work for anyone with the ability to tick a box to "unhide" it
