I forgot how bad some of these fiel share programs can be after using WinMX for 3+ years anyone know of a good program out there, or where WinMX has gone?
There arent exactly a hundred networks to choose from. I'd say pick the best client per-network and see how you like it. I use eMule (primarily), Limewire (rarely) and Azureus (occasionally).
I've never used WinMX so I don't know what the best replacement would be.
Gnutella? Limewire Pro (For now, until they potentially cut off copyright materials)
eDonkey? eMule
FastTrack? K-Lite (Kazaa network is getting pretty damn bad though)
BitTorrent? Azureus (There are so many clients, I like Azureus but some people prefer BitTornado or the Official Bittorrent Client)
MP2P, Filetopia, Freenet, MUTE, Ants, Direct Connect? Dont bother.

That's it for now. This list will be updated whenever I feel like it.

K-Lite has over 2 million users and a shallow learning curve. For newbies, not a terrible choice (not really a good choice, but not terrible).Originally Posted by .:sp00ky:.

Ares is a comparable alternative to WinMX, but then I am using WinMX v.3.54 Beta 4... If I had to swich to another app, I'd go for Ares until I found a better app for movies and games.
