versions up to 3.31 can be had here
3.54 beta 4 update is here (install 3.31 first then overwrite the winmx.exe)
and don't forget to update your peercache lookups here

You are all out of the loop... Try doing some research or read my post from another forum topic:

There is a new patch out. not that it works... but there may be hope for WinMX. there are a lot of dedicated users out there. and as it says on the vladd site: "If you were one of the faithless ones who uninstalled WinMX but want it back now" Not that this has much to say for the patch, but then again, it has a lot to say about the faithless ppl who believe that WinMX may never rise from this. There are loads of WinMX users that would take up the hosting responcibilitys any time. They are doing what they can.

This patch may not work, but keep your ears to the door, you never know, we lmay have MX' back yet. Rumor has it that they were trying to get the hosting done outside of the jurisdiction of the feds anyway, I hold out hope."[I]

I've gotta jump in here to say how overly pissed I was when WinMX went bye-bye. This program has saved me trips to the CD store for a few long years already! And now, thanks to this little "patch" file, we can all continue where we left off.

For anyone who is STILL looking for the patch to fix the Primary and Secondary server listings, please refer to an erlier post on this message thread for a "vladd44" entry, and follow the specific instructions for your operating platform.

I downloaded and applied this patch -- and DAMN -- it works! WinMX is working just like the charm it had been for me all along. Only one drawback noticed -- if it loses a connection (I'm logging in for a secondary connection), it could be a few minutes before it reconnects again.

For me, the jury is still out with regard to trying version 3.54 (new Beta version). I download mostly music files, so I'm not tremendously concerned about a lack of speed. When the connections are completely lost, well then, that's another issue.

Great to have WinMX back!

But you need to be a registered member of the forum to get access to the Archives.

You may try going to http://www.OldVersion.com/ for an older version of MX'. but for a newer one, i have no idea. I got 3.54 Beta 4 from SOMEWHERE, but i cannot remember...lol. It may have come from OldVersion.com, but if it did, they dont have it anymore.
