I just started my new life at WVU, new friends, new location, new computer... Now it seems that I am unable to connect to any p2p network... I need to get music somehow, can anyone suggest a file sharing program and how to configure it such that I can actually use it?

Use that handy search feature towards the top of the page, and use key word "college" and read at least two pages of results, for a thread that may address your topic. 2 pages still only takes you back to June so feel free to keep looking.Originally Posted by siegz

Siegz, here are a few ways that people p2p in college:
-Direct Connect Hubs (are local so if one is running INSIDE the campus network it cannot be banned by WVU). Same with iTunes sharing (i know thats really popular at UVa).
-Try all of the p2p apps you find here, chances are they missed one or two programs when they put up that packet filtering software.
-Change ports inside your p2p app, in case they port block. Easiest option. Also the least likely.
-Http tunneling via SSL
-try i2hub app
-Drive down to Blacksburg from Morgantown :icon_king I know this is not an option for you.
You go into your user CP, select edit avatar, scroll to the bottom and click browse. It's easy. Look here...Originally Posted by The-Blast-Radius
