Lets say that I wanted to have 2 playlists:
Playlist 1: Song A, Song B, Song C, Song D
Playlist 2: Song A, Song D, Song E, Song F
Would Song A and D be put on my iPod 2x or would there be one file that both playlists would call to? Thanks for any help with this question.
Chris.
Chris ive never seen an example of a playlist that would require the file to be in 2 places
A playlist is just that, a list, like a grocery list, of what there is to chose from
The list lets you select the WHAT, and put it in some catagory, and in what ORDER
Make your playlists, you shouldnt have any problems
.
No, playlists are just like shortcuts. They link to the file itself, thus there is no for duplicate file.
What that person wants is to have two random playlist.. LIke you want to a playlist for soft songs and a playlist for rock songs.
Not quite....think of it this way. I want two playlists, each one has 75% of my music in it. I was simply wondering if songs that were in both playlists would have to be on the iPod twice or if it would simply call to a single file for both playlists, saving large amounts of space.Originally Posted by shawners
I believe that it doesnt need to be in there but only once.. A playlist will play the same song as long as its in the same directory. Dont make two playlist and move the songs to another directory. As long as it can find that song, it be in there.
Cool, thanks for the help, I'll have to try it out once my iPod is delivered (left from PA to MI today)
You know what I like about IPODS. The fact the can hold all your illegal music files that you didnt get from iTUNES.
