    Looking for Some Good Ad-Support

I'm almost finished with this project that I have been working on for two years now. However it is costing me money to keep up the development. Money that I just don't have. I'm forced into looking for some ad-support for my project to keep up with the development. What I'm looking for is just adware support, not spyware or any bad programs that would discourage others from wanting to use my product. I have already choose to use Google ads on my webpage but that is not enough support. I would also like to have an "opt out" option for the ad-support for my project. Does anyone know of a good ad-support to use?

    ThankYou.

if you want to make money, the independent software marketplace is the wrong place to be

putting in adware/spyware will never help you recoup costs, that is even if people wanted to pay for your software (which they don't, given p2p and free open source alternatives)

just get a real job like everyone else

the internet money bubble popped years ago, the gravy train has not only left the station, it flew off a bridge

I'm not wanting to make profits, just trying to cover the costs of running the project. It will be free and open source and like I said must have an "opt out" option on the ad-support. Sadly to say really nothing is FREE, it always cost money to develope and keep a project running. Just like any other projects they all have some kind of ad-support. I will also have donations available for my project. After I'm able to cover the costs, I can simply remove the ad-support.

    ThankYou.

    ad-ware?

you might as well say "baby poison"--nobody will accept adware in todays climate

people want free. they don't want ads, and they won't pay. supposing you release the program, if it's popular enough, people will make a "clean" version, and you'll still get jack squat (made especially easy if you open source it)

Do you know what "opt out" means? It means that you can choose NOT to install the ad-support on the installation. Simply uncheck and it doesn't install. Why would anyone want to make a clean version when you are NOT required to install the ad-support to begin with?

I understand that everyone wants everything FREE, but even the Internet is full of ad-support almost every website has it. Everyone has to accept that whether they like it or not. Yes you can use your Host file and ad-blockers, Peer Guardian and such to block online ads. But they are some ad-support that are accepted and that is what I'm looking for. Products like Claria, Gator, Gain, Cydoor, New.net, MySearch, WhenU, etc. will NOT be an option because they are very bad programs. I want something that is accepted by most people and will be easy to uninstall if they choose to install it in the first place. I will also offer an ad free version of my product if people want that instead.

opt in, opt out, why differentiate? once you sell your soul, it's gone either way

here's an idea--release a product, and see what your actual users want

Product has already been released as a test version, it has been download over 25,000 times now. The users have been informed that the final release is coming up and for lack of funds and not enough donations, the product may have "opt out" ad-support in the final release with the option to choose your setup installations. The plans are,
Option 1: Ad-support "opt out".exe (Help Support Us Reccommended)
Option 2: Just the product "NO Ad-support".exe(with option onine donation)

We are looking for a good ad-support sponser for Option 1.

The users have already been giving me some ideas for the choice of an ad-sponser, but I want to select the best one. The users have been very supportive about the plans to have ad-support in the final release and more donations have been coming in. Because if there is any way to avoid ad-support, that's what I want to do.

    ThankYou. :icon_king

I'm not the only developer involved with this project, and I don't wish to disclose its name. But I can tell you that it is an all-in-one Audio/Video Player, Converter/Editor, CD/DVD/ISO Writer capable of playing, converting, editing and burning any type of file format.

There are tools that do that for free. Try something else.
