It seems to work with chips that support SSE2, though SSE3 is necessary for Rosetta (PPC binary translation). Networking doesn't work in VMWare, but it people have gotten it working in some native installations.
This screenshot is from my sister's P4 2.8 GHz.

Heres a link for anyone interested in installing Os X on their pc.

What kind of performance do you get from this?
Dont expect anything very fast through a virtual machine. Really for testing purposes only.Originally Posted by ccc1005

Thats what I was guessing, same reason why I never really tried out Wine for Linux, and use a dual-boot instead.Originally Posted by cpugeniusmv
Wine's a little different then VMWare - Wine is an open-source implementation of the Windows API in a *nix environment - VMWare is a full blown virtual machine. And, just to clear it up, any officially supported OSes in VMWare can have drivers installed in them that make them run as fast as if you were natively running it.
But, either way, wow - I thought Apple was going to include protection to keep OS X from running on just any x86 processor - w00t! :)
They did. But according to one of the people involved in breaking it, "it could have been stronger."Originally Posted by ducttapeBigSexy
