newsserver with router

Can anyone help me here, im trying to connect to my newsserver through a netgear WGT624 and its just not connecting. I looked on netgears website for support with not help. I forwarded the port and im using the actual name instead of the shortened or whatever. so instead of shawnews im using shawnews.wp.shawcable.net yet still no connection. It connected once then stoped so if anyone has any advice it would be appreciated.

never mind I figured it out, my router was changing my ip adress that connects to it so my port forwards wernt working for it. I got it working now.
