Google map service covers lunar surface

Thirty-six years to the day since Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the moon, Google Inc. extended its mapping service to cover the lunar surface.

Google Moon won't give you driving directions or the nearest restaurants, the types of information available with Google Maps and Google Earth. But the lunar tool lets you zoom and move around — to the extent NASA has provided images for those areas.

The feature made its debut Wednesday at http://moon.google.com. It also shows the locations of all six Apollo moon landings. Click on one to get the date and astronauts involved.

Google jokes that by July 20, 2069 — the 100th anniversary — the company will integrate its local search product with Google Moon, so users can find out about lunar businesses and other moon-related information.

Moneoa is right on topic Travis, whichis file sharing. He is sharing info. on the moon google, which is a download file. It is a file that must be downloaded to use it. Hence it is a file sharing topic. Research the topic before telling some one it is off topic.

And so what if a reply is off topic? You can't tell me you've never made an off topic post. Being a senior member you should try and set an example here and not go flaming folks for harmless comments. From the way it read, cybertron was only joking.

You know, like tatoo's,moles, bite marks, etc.

Looks like i started something here. Well on the contrary, no man has landed on the Moon anyway, so that's that. And if cheesy footage, multi-spotlight photographs and tack pasted backdrops are your evidence, i'm presumming you beliv ein fairys aswell? :icon_rabb
