I Want FASTER Downloads ( help )

i am reasonably new to winmx. i've benn told ALLSORTS about settings.
if your in UK (ESPECIALLY) i i need help on cable b/band. from UDP etc. b/width etc. primary/ secondary etc.
can u run me thru' wot each setting SHOULD be, for just a GOOD d/l speed. i'm on ntl by the way and behind firewall ( i know this affects it somehow, ???)
CAN U HELP ???

Faster downloads only happen on faster networks.

I can help a little but I don't really know whats giving you problems. If none of your downloads are starting you need to map out a port for winmx or go into settings and check "unable to send UDP data on any port". This setting really sucks though and its best just to open up a port.

If you have a really fast internet connection, use primary to connect and then you will need to go into options and cap a good deal of your upload bandwidth or winmx will perfrom like shit. If you have a slower connection you can still run primary but you will have to cap your upload bandwidth to a very slow speed and I would advise just using 1 slot upload.

Secondary is most peoples best bet. Find your upload speed limit and then throttle it back about 5B/s.

Post back what type of connection problems you are having.

winmx is shit use a different program like wares or imesh either of these would be your best choice

I don't know about your choice of apps. But would you mind terribly much changing your avatar. That one has been in use by another member for years.

if u buyed yur pc in 2004 and have xp then go 2 java.com and download the latest java then get limewire than u will have good download speed or u could use bearshare
