"A new survey by Japanese news agency C-News suggests that Japanese consumers are still not interested in the Xbox 360, with only two per cent of respondents choosing Microsoft's new console as their favoured next-gen system.
1,000 Japanese consumers aged between 10 and 59 were questioned for the survey, with 60 per cent choosing the PlayStation 3 as the next-gen system they're most interested in, followed by the Nintendo Revolution on 8 per cent and the Xbox 360 on at just 2 per cent.
The poor showing for the Revolution is perhaps understandable, given that Nintendo has released only sketchy outline details regarding their console so far - but the figure for the Xbox 360 will come as a disappointment to Microsoft, which has focused heavily on the Japanese market in recent months.
Microsoft has been aggressively pursuing Japanese developer support for the Xbox 360, and has signed up titles from independent studios Mist Walker, Game Republic and Q Entertainment, each of them headed up by a well known Japanese game design luminary."

Microsoft $ucks!
Hey Sony isn't too good either, I've gone through 3 ps2 consoles.......
seriously man --This surprises me
the Japanese r very upfront in the technology dept ..etc
surely wid the xbox360 stat's -- well they prove wot a machine it is..
Most likely since microsoft doesnt make too many japan based games, or japanese animated games. Down with all the little pokemon or digimon.
Why would you buy another PS2 console if they keep on breaking!?!?!Originally Posted by Andrew110

Yeah..you kinda have to wonder there...
17 USC § 1008 Prohibition on certain infringement actions:
No action may be brought under this title alleging infringement of copyright based on the noncommercial use by a consumer for making digital musical or analog musical recordings.
the even bigger question is how much do you play that you go through 3 of them? time to go outside man.
Doesn't surprise me - if I'm not mistaken, the original XBox never did that well in Japan in the first place. Maybe it's just me, but XBox just seems more western then anything.
Not that it matters or anything - i doubt m$ is hurting for money :P
Yeah its funny i remember this happening before as ducttape said when the xbox came out in japan people were like meh and rockin the dreamcast until it died
I'll do the same thing i did for the xbox, when it is cracked and i can play pirated games on it, i'll buy it.
Also the ps3 has 3 cell procesors... that makes my pants very small.
I've had a similar experience with Sony products.Originally Posted by Andrew110

Even the PS1 owned the xbox in terms of sales when it first came out !
this is interesting
i thought Japan wid their Tech mind's would
grasp the 360 wid open arm's
iu still want 1
The Japanese market isn't as enthralled with 3D shooters . Now, if Microsoft launched the 360 with a roomate simulation or a game where you fly around as a mosquito trying to suck super #1 happy mana juice from talking mushrooms, maybe it would have a better chance.
The PS2 wasn't even taking off there until Sony started advertising it as a DVD player.
.. also, no Sony fanboy would ever kick a 360 out of bed. You're just poor. Take back some pop cans and sell your sister until you have enough cash.
