    Lightbulb P2P database?

I was looking at your website and the one thing that is missing is some sort of db that would alow you to post the discriptions and filenames of the high memory big files that take lots of time to download even fo those of us with high bandwidth.

It could be split into categorys of music/movies ect and could be updated by the users who dl them and say yes this file works and does what it says it does (cos its a pain for those times you spend waiting to find out its usless just some porn instead of the movie that you are wating to watch etc).

If made searchable it could turn into not only a very good and useful tool in the world of p2p but as a potentialy very big venture for the website and its administrators.

    Wadda you all think?...

sounds like a major liability issue--its one thing to link to the programs to get files, quite another to link to actual files (or their names)

    sounds bad

notbob's right. If the site actually made ripped movies and what not available it could easily be shut down. A list of known fakes however could prove to be useful.
For instance, you could have a list for Fastrack... Fight_Club_1_3$.mpg --This is not the Fight Club movie.
However, I don't see much use for it. It would take a lot of room and I doubt people would use it much at all. Besides there are alot of files out there. Careful downloading is all that is needed.

Talking Exactly what ur looking for i think

Kazaa have the Sig2dat tool!!?? it lets u post on the net the exact filename, file size, and the UUHASH code. u then run sig2dat which comes with kazaa, and you input that info in the boxes, and click sumbit. then you close it, reboot kazaa, and voila! when u go to downloads, it's there ready to go!

hope that was some help if thats what you meant and dont know about sig2dat. yay, my first post, hopefully of many!

yeah... i would definately entertain the idea.... technically ZP wouldnt be doing anything illegal if sig2dat hashes were used. i think that with the number of users here, we could very rapidly come up with a huge file base.... i think that would be cool. kinda like sharereactor is for edonkey/mule/overnet. IMHO, there really isnt a good site for this sort of thing, and i think it could attract a huge number of peeps here. or if you dont like the idea of a slew of new peeps coming, you could create a sister site maybe?

i would love to see this happen, but i really dont think it will.
