    Download/upload speeds - Virtual Server

First, I admit my newness. I have read various posts about disabling firewalls and configuring virtual servers, and I have tried to follow instructions. However, my speeds remain agonizingly slow. I am using a Belkin router and have configured the Virtual Server settings as directed (I hope). But that has not helped. I am using Earthlink as my internet provider and connect via PPPoE. Is this method of connection my problem? If it is, what, if anything, can I do get my speeds faster? Thanks in advance for your help.

If you can, assign yourself a static IP through your router. Then open the ports that you are using for BT and your client.

In windows, make sure that your firewall is either off or that you have made an exception for your BT client.

Check your client settings. Check the router configuration. Check again.
