Slow Video Card

Can anyone tell me why my video card only puts out about 9 FPS in CS:S when looking into water? I Have an nvidia fx-5500, 256mb ram.

What kind of resolution, anti-aliasing, and other effects are you using while playing the game? Your card is, as of a few days ago, two generations removed from the current generation. even though it has a lot of ram, its not the worlds fastest card.

You have a very apt system, but your card sucks, it is a dog. Even when it came out it was one of the neutered variants of the FX line. Spend a bit more money on hardware and less on blinking lights
