There are soooo many ignorant and misinformed people

Good Lord! It blows my mind how many ignorant and misinformed people there are. In my previous post about Durbin...how have you not heard about what he said? Anyway, he has compared the soldiers and guards at Gitmo to Soviets, Kumar Rouge, and Nazis. Now, lets put this in perspective like mature adults (if there are truly any here). First of all, the three regimes that have been described all had deathcamps that literally exterminated millions of innocent women children and men through ethnic cleansing. Millions! Now, Guatanamo Bay is a controversial subject, which everyone might have his/her own opinion about. However, surely anyone with a brain would know that there is no compairison betwwen Gitmo and the described deathcamps. In fact, not a single prisoner has been killed. Argualby, not a single prisoner has been abused. I might consider loud rap music to be torture but that is beside the point. Those prisoners get three square meals per day, including choices between two types of fruit and two types of vegetable, a meat entree, and bread. They also get tea/coffee. There is air conditioning. I know for a fact that the county jail in the county I live in doesn't have that nice of conditions, and were talking about terrorists here. These are people that would readily kill you, reguardless of your political affiliation. It seems that some have forgotten this. To me it seems like the prisoners are being treated faily well, given that we are still at war. I am pretty sure that when it is all said and done and the war objectives have been met or that the terrorists have been defeated or whatever, those people will see whatever justice is deserved of them, whether it be their release or punishmnet, depending on the individiual terrorist.
Now, as far as political affiliation goes, I am proud to say what I believe. I have even given reasons for this in previous posts. If you cant remember, I will briefly update you on this. I am a person who cherishes God, country, and family. Anything that stands between those three sacred things to me is my enemy. If you have a problem with that, then you have a problem with me. The things that the Democrats themselves are saying stands in the way of those very things. I used to vote for some Democrats. The party has changed. Howard Dean, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Robert (KKK) Burd, and others have truly put their foot in their mouths. They are the ones who are distancing theirself further and further to the left, away from rational thought. The simple fact is, that they are not winning elections, and they hate it. They hate Bush and the rest of the republicans. They are relentless at trying make the republicans look bad. They will stop at nothing. It is the case on almost any issue. They block any good idea with filibusters, just to try to make the republicans look like nothing is being accomplished.
They came up with a "formal" apology for segregation in the South, at least tried to take credit for it. As a student of history, I know better. It was DEMOCRATS, such as Robert (KKK) Burd who filibustered bills to end segregation during the Civil Rights Movement. There are many more examples, and they have the audacity to accuse Bush of lying about Iraq, even though the U.S. senate (including John Kerry himself), and the U.N. Security Council said the EXACT same thing! People need to get their facts straight before they open their mouth. Maybe the only reason to open their mouths should be for sucking their thumbs. I would agree that there is a need to be open minded, but why then is there such a double standard? What the liberals have become are not the same part as the great Democrats of the past such as FDR, JFK, Truman, Jefferson, etc. They want to have a democracy, but all they do is protest every single thing that they don't agree with instead of voicing their opinions at the polls. Is iit because they already know that they won't win? It is this defeatus attitude that the Socialist left wants all of us to have. They want us to think that we are too stupid to think for ourselves and take personal responsibility, so we need them to do it for us. It seems to me (since conservatives are the ones winning the elections) that this type of thinking has finally been defeated by the masses.
