In this article, I compare the Nokia N91 with Apples iPod, and demonstrate why patience is an excellent virtue to have when shopping for technology.
Let’s face it; iPod has shipped over 60 million units, making the iPod the most sought after toy since the “CHANGE THIS”.
What makes the iPod so great, or what makes most mp3 players worth buying, is the ability to travel, exercise, or work while listening to your favorite music. The iPod was successful because of its size and Apples unique marketing tactics. The iPod isn’t the “end all, be all” of portable technology, and after reading this article you won’t be in such a hurry to go out and buy an iPod, because the Nokia N91 is an iPod killer.
The iPod is like the classic Walkman on steroids, only the iPod costs more and it’s a tad bit fragile. The iPod offers ranging hard drive capacity, ranging from 1-60 gigs. One function that the iPod lacks is an FM modulator, allowing iPod users the ability to listen to radio. Sirius satellite radio made a serious attempt at getting Apple to bundle the two technologies together, but Sirius had no success. This would have been a great feature to offer iPod fanatics, and showing Apples stand on technology. But for whatever reason, Apple declined to partner with Sirius. Bad move, these two companies are ideal for each other.
Rumors have swarmed around the net about an Apple iPhone, Mac freaks have been churning this subject for months, mean while Apple claims to have no interest in the subject. My guess would be that Apple has ties with telecoms or cell phone companies and Apple doesn’t want to step on any toes.
So what could be better then an iPod? The answer is simple, the Nokia N91.

Shame its an ugly phone. The media control pad looks alright but those number pad buttons look like I would press six at once. Why phone companies have to make their phones look space age or whatever they are going for? I just like regular looking phones. I hope this is just the start of other companies producing phones/hard drive players. Still, I'm not going to buy another phone for at least another year because they evolve too quickly and I cant be bothered trying to keep up. Technical specs look pretty cool though.
I really want one of these phones, i can't wait till xmas when these are rumored to come out. It would be a perfect time, the expected retail price is not cheap...
You aint serious! Its an ugly piece of junk... 4 Gig HD WOW!!! You're gonna get loads of files on there - NOT!! This is for the kiddies and the girlies...
I think it looks good....real good....but def. not an iPod killer....especially since it has not been officially reviewed by anyone.
Not to mention, some people like to keep their mp3 player and phone seperate.
Post the price if you find out Jorge.

The N91?? That's about as catchy as the number of my nightbus home, the legendary N79a.
"Shame its an ugly phone. " No way!
The phone is ugly, get over it.

Unless you are the following people, I do not particularly wish to associate with you:
Krell, HelenaP, mountain_rage, mfgbypooter, Mels_Smileys45, excrement_cranium.
That's it for now. This list will be updated whenever I feel like it.
It boggles my mind as to how the iPod is so popular... it doesn't have many features, has bad battery life, and now smaller HDs (why pay $200 for 4 GB???) compared to the other better MP3 players. I guess people just get caught in the fads...
