Hello, I cant get File Sharing in MSN Messenger to work as I always get error messages "Continue running scripts on this page? Yes/No", something about it not being able to create a directory. Does anyone know what I could do to fix this?
Now the main bit: What would you reccommend as a good way to share files with a group of friends? I don't want the hassle of setting up and using FTP servers because some of my friends arent especially technical (nor am I really :D). I found a program called Grouper (www.grouper.com) but I'm not sure if it's what I'm looking for. The website looks kind of like all the Affiliate websites for Spyware removal and mp3 downloads and stuff (especially the quote from a user) which (although its probably fine) makes me not trust it.
Any ideas?

I have never tried grouper. I don't think it has spyware, but don't quote me on that. As for msn, I don't use it anymore. I would, however, recommend Trillian IM or Qnext for chatting and file sharing. They are both capable of multi-tasking instant messaging. You can use one app for AOL, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, and IRC, etc. You may also find yousendit.com or datapickup.com to be a good tool for sending larger files. Hope this helps...Originally Posted by tomars

Those errors could possibly be due to virus or spyware activity or your virus software is preventing something from working. It could also be your firewall settings. Try disabling that too and see what happens. Also make sure your windows machine is up to date. You could also try defaulting your Internet explorer settings, since it is an IE error. I usually run an online virus scan once a month or so for a second opinion. Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hous...start_corp.asp and run a scan. It couldn't hurt.

Thanks for the reply RACKnRAIL,
I downloaded grouper and I dont think it has spyware but its pretty slow and the windows 'fade' in, which already does my head in. It takes up quite a bit of memory aswel. And as for Trillian, I don't think I really need it, as all my firends either use MSN or sometimes I talk in mIRC, so I wouldn't need cross network. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Im giving housecall a go, but I've got a feeling it might have something to do with Outpost firewall which I only recently installed. It seems very strict and I havent quite got used to it yet, so after scanning I'l try with that disabled.
Thankyou :D
