Unhappy Help with bundled torrent files

I'm not sure if this either a problem or just set by program default but here is the thing.

I'm currently downloading an anime series, with 25 episodes in total and around 4.2 GB. Its all packed into one torrent file, and its stored on my default directory (D drive desktop). Right now, I've got about 175 MB down, which is one whole episode. So I tried to open it (its a complete file), but everytime time I open it, a message indicating invalid or corrupted file shows up. These are avi. files, and I tried all Winamp, Win Media, and DivX, and I'm sure theres nothing wrong with my video player codecs since they worked fine with my previous avi. files.

So is there something wrong with my Bittorrent settings(I'm not using any Java clients as of the moment, just the original downloader) or is it just default that bundled files cannot be viewed individually until the whole package is complete?

I have 56k modem dial-up, and it average out at 2kbs/s, goes up to 4 or 5 if I get lucky...so...

    If latter is the case, then it'll probably be months before I get the whole thing down ;_;

And, thats it. Any advice or help would be appriciated. Admins feel free to delete or move if this is not in the right place.

I'd just throw some other players at it. Like http://www.avipreview.com/avipreview.htm and http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

If they are .rar files, you'll get this if you don't have all the parts.

Some clients dont send the info to the disk fast enough.. Mine sometimes say complete if its one rar file.. or the client makes the space for the data by reallocating it and it may not be complete even if it says it is.. OR That you cant use it cause its being used by another program... Copy and paste to another directory and then try viewing it. If it doesnt let you do that, then its being used by your bit torrent client and cant access it.. I would hope they winrar it.

Unless ur using something like G3, or bitspirit, where u can choose what files to download first, u cant be sure whether uve got 1 episode, or a few pieces of everthing

if all the episodes are packed in1 single file, lets say .avi, then there is no way to make sure that all packets that will be downloaded in the same order

Sorry, but i am asuming ur not that advanced bittorrent user, but if u wanna try, get this client, it uses very less memory (less than 10mb Ram), and u can be sure of what packets uve downloaded
    http://www.bytelinker.com/intl/download.htm (BitSpirit v2.6 Final)
open the torrent using this program, and chose to downlaod where u were orignally downloading the file, it will resume for u

Screenshot to explain more about packets
    And welcome to Zp

Edit: Tell us what type of file ur downloading
    sing video file (.avi, .wmv)
or multiple video files packed in a folder (1avi, 2avi, 3avi...)
or a compressed archive like .zip, .rar

Youre trying to dl a freakin DVD on dialup, you only have 125mb and cant understand why you cant watch it already?

Dont you have a summer vacation coming up?

After school is out, and you go to Europe, and finally run out of things to do, THEN check and see if your d is finished yet, and have something to work with.

No, they are not rar. files, but 25 individual avi. files packed into one no-string-attached folder

I have tried the the paste-in-another-directory method and that doesn't work either.

And thanks to ferrarimodena360 for the BitSpirit link.

Nevermind all the stuff I said before, I tried switching to Azureus, but it won't resume my original so I just deleted it (I'll probably regret it later). Though it was quite resource-consuming so I tried BitSpirit.

But here's the new problem: I pasted my torrent url into the new torrent form, and it worked out fine, great speed, great performance. However, one, my upload stayed at 0 kbs; two, even though it downloads at normal speed, and I got plenty of MB down, but the download meter still indicates I'm at 0%, FLAT, and the piece status remains blank; lastly, whenever I restart the program, what I have goes down to zero and I'll have to start the whole thing over! Does this program not support resume or do I got some wrong settings? :(
