In the future, we will be forced to grow foods faster. I don't think it's healthy. What do you think?
whats unhealthy about it?
Your Hormones grow faster. Liver changes were found in mice fed on Genetically Engineered Soy Beans. This indicates that GE foods may cause serious disturbances in cellular function that may affect health. Genetic engineering may cause the creation of unexpected harmful substances. This includes poisons, mutagens (substances causing genetic changes that may be harmful) and carcinogens (substances causing cancer). Once released into nature the genetically engineered organisms and their altered genes cannot be recalled. They may spread widely and uncontrollably century after century, yes indefinitely. Scientists have warned for a number of potential hazards, some of which may be serious.
As long as it tastes the same and has no adverse effects (or is it affects?) I don't care. Crop rotation only lasts so long till the soil is unusable anyway.
The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.
The resident evil story might become true if we use it but this time, You eat it, you die, you are alive again. Resident Evil was a T virus. Expect a new virus in genetic foods. Take a look at this site.

Now, it's up to you to decide if you want to eat these types of food.
Again...if it has no adverse affects...I don't care..
Oh, and mushrooms are a carcinogen. People don't care about that...

A lot of foods we eat today have been genetically altered in some way.

You're a postwhore, legendsofaranna. What's with this recent kick on genetically modified foods? What inspired all this?
Mentioning "Resident Evil" all the time gets old. Real quick.

You just don't want to believe the possibility. All those facts out there. Isn't obvious it sounds somewhat like the T-virus?Originally Posted by Potato

You will always be with me.
I personally don't like the idea of it one bit. I grew up in the country where vegetables tasted like what they should. Do you really care if your tomato is perfectly round? I sure as hell don't! More and more profit is what it's really about. Perhaps Soylent green would better describe the future. LOL!

Anyways. Genetic research and modificaton on plants has been happening for quite a looooong time. It's really easy with plants. The techniques have improved trhougout the years. While there have been some setbacks, such as the yellow corn from Mexico a few years back, most of the plant based foods we see now are geneticly modified in some fashion. It will either be this process, or back to 'ol chemical methods. We now know, however, that the chemical methods proved a far greater risk to our health, and the environment.
