    Question Video file

    Does anyone know how to How to shrink a video file .

    be more specific, u want to re-encode then use xvid, or divx, or u want to rar it?

    yeal ur right , well i have several MPEG's video files but they are like 200 - 300 megs and i was wondering if there was a way to converting or something to make them smaller , not RAR it .

    well you can re-encode it with a codec with greater compression, and/or a lower resolution/bitrate
    xvid/divx will make it smaller without too much loss of quality
    wmv (via windows media encoder) can make it real small, but with more loss of quality

    the next-gen standard MPEG-4 "AVC(h.264) with aacPlus audio" codec will give you the best compression than any other codec.. the video is much clearer, block-free, and visually superior, most noticeably at lower bitrates.

    for converting to wmv i use Windows Media Encoder 7.1
    i don't know about the other stuff
