DVD files- How do I get them into Nero??

    Hey guys,

What do I need to do to DVD files to get them to load into Nero??

I've borrowed these two short yoga DVDs want to put them on one disk for myself. I copied them with DVD Decryptor, sorted them out in DVD Shrink and made a back up but what do I need to do next in order for it to load into NeroVision Express??

When I try to load the vob files into it it always fails. I tried loading them to 'MyDVD' aswell but that doesn't except the file type either.

I don't really want to burn the disk with CloneDVD2 as I've already tried this and it didn't work very well. It didn't record any sound and the chapters wouldn't skip properly.

All I want to do is make simple buttons so I can skip from Upper body to Lower body etc without going through it all. That's why I want to load it into Nero. What do I need to use to convert the vod files so I can do this??

As ever, any help much appreciated!!

If you got a ISO out of DVD Shrink you can burn the DVD R with DVD decryptor no need for Nero .DVD Shrink even has an option to burn with Decryptor as well as Nero.

If you look in the Mode Menu of Decryptor you will see ISO and the options to read and write.

If you want to reauthor the DVD and add your own menus look at this guide from CD Freaks.

You dont USE NeroVision Express . . . you use NERO EXPRESS

Personally, I recomend that you use DVD Shrink

(these are the two EASIEST WAYS)

We have had too many threads on this so I want you to click on the SEARCH button, and type " DVD SHRINK ", then read the threads.

Heres another set of links, but unless youre willing to read what weve already said, im not willing to spend the time searching for the detailed instructions again.

.. being that you want to take 2 main movie portions from 2 seperate DVDs, combine them to one DVD and make a simple menu, I recommend you do use NeroVision Express.
Make DVD-->DVD Video-->add Video Files. From there you can browse to your backups (perhaps use DVD Shrink in reauthor mode, isolate each main movie and back it up to a set of DVD files first), then add those main movie files to the project.
You can set the beginning of each chapter and add a simple menu as well.
I do almost the same thing with video captures from digital cable to make multi-episode DVDs of the HBO series Deadwood and Carnivale. The only difference is I use video files I capture myself, and you'll be using DVD files produced by DVD shrink.

I did mention that I've already used DVD Shrink to sort out the dvd, I'm just having problems getting those files into Nero/MyDVD. I've now converted the files to mpegs using 'gui4ffmpeg' but neither will let me load them either. It's really frustrating. 'MyDVD' is supposed to accept mpegs but it tells me it doesn't support the file type. The weird thing is it accepted the first mpeg (a health warning thing) but when it came to the main stuff it wouldn't take them. Nero just tells me it cannot import the files or some sh*t like that.

    I just can't win.

I won't ask anymore anyway, sorry for wasting your time Krell.

Don't import the mpeg versions of the files into NeroVision Express. Use Shrink to back the discs up as files (not an image), and then you can drop the .vob files in no sweat.

    Tried

I tried that before converting them though, and it wouldn't take them. I don't think there is anything wrong with the vobs because they load into CloneDVD2 fine. Couldd there be something wrong with NeroVision? I can drop them into Nero Burning Rom fine but as I said I want to make a menu. It's really weird.

CloneDVD2 is a great program...really hard to mess anything up unless you uncheck some of the Audio Options......anyway, with Nero, you can't burn DVDs unless you have the MPEG2DVD plugin installed........

Ahh, I didn't realise I needed that plugin. I'll give it a try. Or do what Krell said. Otherwise I'll have to try and get hold of DVDlab and try that or something. Had nothing but problems with Nero and 'MyDVD' only seems to work with stuff I capture using PowerCinema.

    Thanx guys.

BloodyWinker, I apologise, I misread your post. Im sure Lion and Kleener were wondering WHAT the hell?

I get it, you have TWO different DVDs, and you want to put them on to ONE DVD . . if they will fit

SO you already have NeroVision Express

If you have the VOB files copied to your hard drive, in different folders, then I think that with NeroVision, you can just ADD FILES and browse to them, rename them to what you want and reauthor your own DVD.

I will try to do this today and make you a pictograph, sorry for the confusion

    To Krell

As I said before, I do know how to use DVDShrink. The files are already re-authored and in a folder. I just always get a message saying 'Unable to insert files' when I try to put them in Nero.

It didn't really matter that you misread the post as what I wrote there was redundant really as I already sorted the 'putting two dvds together' thing just using DVDShrink. That isn't the problem.

I apologise that I'm blatently not as computer literate as you. That's why I came here in the first place...to learn.

I purely cannot get them to load into Nero.

On your question about versions, I have Nero 2.0.0.4 and DVDShrink 3.2.

I have never had problems using the files DVDShrink makes with Nero.
But I am using Nero 6.3.0.2. I would try it with a newer version of Nero, version 2.0.0.4 is pretty old.

    . . . . uhhhh *foggy uncaffeinated . . hates world*

shit man, rename the VOB files, to a .mpeg extention

In EXPLORER select the vob, then hit F2 on the kb, then hit RIGHT ARROW

backspace 4 times, and change the extention to "anything".mpeg, hit enter, say YES

go back and see if you can load it in Nero then!

Once it takes it, you can name it whatever you want to in the Nero dialogue box using F2 again or right clicking it :D

    cheers

Wow, didn't realise I had such an old version of Nero. I think I'm just plain gonna have to get a different version coz it has to be a problem with Nero. I've tried the Vob files, I've tried convertng them to mpegs, I've now tried renaming the files and still 'Unable to insert files...' every single time.

I think it would appear that I've wasted everyones time while trying to work with a faulty Nero program. It has to be that.

But then it is just NeroVision that is dodgy coz the actual burning rom is fine.

Can I just a new version of NeroVision Express on it's own or do I need to replace the whole shabang?

Ah sod it all to hell!!

I have tons of jpop videos

they are high quality with vob extentions

I rename them to mpeg, then load them in to NeroVision Express

I add them one by one then arrange them in the order I want, and rename them

when I have all the videos that will fit, I click next

I set the fonts, the frames, the color, animations, etc etc then burn the compilation

If you do this right, your videos thumbnails will also play as in these pics
